Chris Hemsworth on "Thor 2" Director Patty Jenkins

Chris Hemsworth on "Thor 2" Director Patty JenkinsSubmit Comment
It was recently reported that "Monster" director Patty Jenkins is the favorite to replace Kenneth Branagh as the director of "Thor 2" after Branagh made the decision not to return for the sequel.

LA Times now caught up with Chris Hemsworth, who revealed that he has already met with Jenkins. "She has a great take on the story and a solid grasp on that kind of universe," said the actor. "Branagh read every comic book he could get his hands on, she also looked like she had done her homework."

Marvel President Kevin Feige recently stated that the sequel will take "Thor (Hemsworth) literally to other worlds. [It will] primarily be the journey of that character, of he and Jane Foster (Natalie Portman) and how the new dynamic with his father (Anthony Hopkins) is working out, as well as what are the broader stakes for The Nine Worlds."

"Thor 2" is scheduled to hit theaters on July 26th, 2013, roughly one year after "The Avengers."

Uhm looking at her Bio http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0420941/

I dont think she is up for the task... Branagh did such a great job with the first movie... this bitch could ruin THOR.. hopefully they decide not to take her...

Just found out that the tesseract-like object in Thor was The Casket of Ancient Winters.

You know, it doesn't hurt to do research. But it still bothers me that these Marvel Studios movies pretty much require you to be a comic book aficionado in order to know everything that is going on.

I donīt know. She made Theron won an Oscar for her performance in "Monster", maybe this one can make Hemsworth worthy for some award......

Saw Thor yesterday.

Hemsworth was great, Hopkins - great as always, Hiddleston - remarkable in a role like this.

Art direction and visuals of Asghard were awesome - kudos to Bo Welch and his team.

Otherwise - 6.5/10 or so.

Branagh did his best with the addition of shakespearean allusions to the story (and the cast did a great job) - but the screenplay didn't help him. Portman was wasted (and looked more like a retarded schoolgirl rather than a scientist of any kind).

Also it was very well shot.

I've never read and have no intentions to read any comic books on the topic, so maybe I'm missing something here. Just judging it as a standalone piece of entertainment.

Yeah I wasn't too keen on Thor apart from how good Asgard looked in 3D so I couldn't care less who done the sequel. Everyone should start boycotting every superhero film so the natural order can be restored and we can start trying to inject some originality into Hollywood.

Kenneth Branagh did a great job in Thor, Chris Hemsworth was amazing as Thor, the perfect choice and the rest of the cast did well in their roles.

Thor is my favourite comic book movie of the year along with X-Men: First Class and Captain America: The First Avenger.

I hope Patty Jenkins does a great job on Thor 2, let's hope Branagh produces this one and the sequel will be better than the first one.
