James McAvoy to Star in Elton John Biopic "Rocketman"?Posted: September 26th, 2011 by WorstPreviews.com Staff

We recently learned that Elton John was developing a film about his life, called "Rocketman." Playwright Lee Hall will provide the script and John will produce. The two men previously worked together on the hit musical adaptation of Hall's "Billy Elliot" movie.
"'Rocketman' will be a radically different kind of biopic. [It will be] non-linear and hyper-visual," said producer Steve Hamilton Shaw. "We've always thought there was a wonderful cinematic opportunity to tell Elton's life story."
At this point, the script has been completed and the search for a director has started. The Scottish Sun claims that "X-Men: First Class" actor James McAvoy is the favorite to land the lead role.
