"Terminator 5" to Shoot in a Year, Without Justin Lin

Posted: September 21st, 2011 by WorstPreviews.com Staff
"Terminator 5" to Shoot in a Year, Without Justin LinSubmit Comment
Deadline has learned that Arnold Schwarzenegger and "Terminator" rights owner Megan Ellison are planning to shoot two "Terminator" films and are aiming to place the first one into production in the fourth quarter of 2012.

The decision forced director Justin Lin (Fast Five) to drop out, despite being involved with the project for many months. Lin will be busy directing the sixth "Fast and the Furious" installment, but is willing to helm "The Terminator" films if Schwarzenegger and Ellison can push production start date until he becomes available.

At this point, it may be difficult to get the film into production by the end of 2012, since there is still no screenwriter on board and no studio partner. James Cameron, however, has been involved in crafting the story. It's still unclear whether he'll decide to executive produce.

Justin Lin only knows how to direct stupid Vin Diesel racing car movies and doesn't want to get out of his comfort zone

He's doing the world a favor by not casting Paul Walker as Kyle Reese

Smart move for Lin. He knew Arnold is withering and by pushing the date he's checking if arnold is still alive next year.

What a pity to see one of the biggest sci-fi franchises of the 80's has become now... Terminator 5 will be sh*t, just like Salvation...

I understand that Justin Lin is very busy with Fast Six and he has turned down Die Hard 5 and also the Highlander remake.

Fast Five is the best movie in the series so I hope Lin will do the six movie.

And about Terminator 5? It had already went downhill when Terminator 3 wasn't directed by James Cameron, the movie had awful writers, Arine returned but the script destory his character and it didn't made me feel sorry or exicited about him just like Terminator 2.

Also Furlong didn't return as John Connor but there is a understandable reason behind that and the main villain was female.

I am not being sexism but it would had be better if the main villain was male and scary just like the T-1000.

Also about Terminator Salvation? I had hope about this movie but it disappoint me because the script was awful, the film should had been 15 or 18 like the first two movies and the whole movie was cheesey.

Sam Worthingtion did a great job where Bale and Anton Yelchin try their best but couldn't be great as John Connor and Kyle Reese like Edward Furlong and Michael Biehn were.

So let's see The Terminator and T2 were the best movies in the series

Terminator 3 and Terminator Salvation were the worst movies in the series so two movies that were great and two other movies that weren't.

So I think Terminator 5 might work if only
the studio gets the right director, the right writers, the right crew memebers and the right cast.

My idea for all of those parts:

Director: John Hyams or Ridley Scott

Writers: Chris Morgan, Chirstopher Nolan or the first Iron Man movie writers.

Music: Hans Zimmer, James Horner or Patrick Doyle.

Cast:
Christain Bale as John Connor
Anton Yelchin as Kyle Reese
Arnold Schwarzenegger- The Main Villain
Sasha Mitchell- A warrior fighter
Dolph Lundgren as the leader of T-600s

I can't think anymore but still I don't mind this anyone gives more cast memeber ideas.

I still think the Terminator series is finish so no more Terminator movies.

It's funny that only a couple of months ago, everybody was complaining that Justin Lin was the director of the new Terminator and now that he's leaving, everybody's complaining again. I'm sure a lot of people here just want to see a good, quality Terminator film, but this is getting ridiculous. Just know that because Justin Lin is out, a really good director might come in and take his place.

Big- Nice boxoffice figures mate.

Only thing is the Fast series is on the up, each film seems to be taking more money at the boxoffice and be it good or bad pt 6 will be massive, Terminator on the other hand is on a downward curve at the boxoffice and unless James Cameron came back to direct i can't see that changing.
