"Point Break" Remake Officially AnnouncedPosted: September 13th, 2011 by WorstPreviews.com Staff
|
About two months ago, we heard that the remake of "Point Break" was moving forward. And now, Alcon Entertainment has confirmed the news, revealing several details in a press release.
The new film is set in the world of international extreme sports, and like the original involves an undercover FBI agent infiltrating a criminal ring. The script is written by Kurt Wimmer (Salt, Law Abiding Citizen).
"Who doesn't love the Kathryn Bigelow original and its pure heart-pounding action and thrills," said producers Andrew Kosove and Broderick Johnson. "Kurt's take infuses the story and characters with new twists and settings."

You, apparently. Otherwise you wouldn't do a remake.

Remakes should only ever be acceptable if it's got something fresh to bring aka better graphics (King Kong) or amazing actors (The Departed) otherwise f*ck a goat Hollywood.

The script is written by Kurt Wimmer (Salt, Law Abiding Citizen).
If there was ever a reason not to watch it, there it is right in one sentence.
Also, wasn't there already a remake of this it was called...
Fast and the Furious.

Point Break is still a great movie to watch, even 20 years later. No need for a remake. Besides, Salt and Law Abiding citizen were sh*t. That says it all if the remake has to be written by the same guy...
