Christoph Waltz is in "The Amazing Spider-Man"?

Christoph Waltz is in "The Amazing Spider-Man"?Submit Comment
About a year ago, several sources confirmed that "Inglourious Basterds" star Christoph Waltz was in talks with Sony Pictures for "The Amazing-Spider-Man." At the time it was assumed that he would play The Lizard, but that role eventually went to Rhys Ifans.

Since then, Waltz hasn't been mentioned in regards to the new Spidey film, but that doesn't mean that he's not involved. If you own a Sony PlayStation 3 and head over to the PlayStation Store, there you can find the trailer for "The Amazing Spider-Man." And in the credits, you will see Waltz's name, alongside Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Rhys Ifans and Martin Sheen.

I'm not sure what all this means, but it's unlikely that Sony Pictures made a mistake when adding their trailer to their PlayStation. So what role could the actor play? Maybe Norman Osborn?

Check out a screenshot from the PlayStation Store below.

Your source is "CBM" so I think we can rest easy about this story having any validity.

It is confirmed that Christopher Waltz might be in the film but I think he might play Rhino, just kidding.

Maybe he will play Osborn but who will play Harry if Norman is in the movie?

I think my choice would be Anton Yelchin.

He's playing Norman Osborne. So far he's the only cast memeber they haven't announced an actor for.

I think he is playing a new character called "Her Lipp" and he is from Duisburg.

different movie Pornfly.

This is the alternate universe (Ultimate)version of Spider-Man. Totally different history, and won't be the same film at all.

Too much speculation. Maybe is something or nothing. Sometimes this machines made mistakes by putting actors in movies we already seen it. The other day I was watching on cable Batman Begins and the cast in the TV guide online says that Keanu Reeves was also involve in the movie. As long I have seeing many times Batman Begins, I have never see him in the movie. So I know it was a mistake, the same this.....

I'm sorry, but Rabid, that is not entirely correct. There is nothing here that notes that "Amazing Spider-Man" is based off of Ultimate Spiderman. The main proof of this, is Gwen Stacy. Not only was Gwen Stacy not introduced til the middle of Ultimate Spiderman's run, but she was a goth-ish chick, not a scientist at all.

I predict Amazing Spiderman will actually be a closer adaptation of the comics, due to SpiderMans first appearance being in "Amazing" fantasy, however this may be a coincidence.

Some parallels between Amazing SpiderMan and the original comics, is the fact Peter is in high school, he created his own web shooters, he met and courted Gwen long before he met Mary Jane, Gwen had a interest in science, and i believe she was also there when he was bit by the spider.

Just a little bit of comic book nerdism from me.

Would love it that he'd be Norman osbourne. Showing his villainy as Osbourne throughout the film then in the end he becomes the green goblin setting up for the sequel.

It follows the Ultimate storyline exactly from what I can see. There are two main differences that were probably done to differentiate it from the Raimi trilogy. They replaced Mary Jane with Gwen and Norman Osborne with Doc Conners. Both are a great nod to the classic, while making the film seperate from it's predecessor. Also the costume he's wearing is the classic origin costume (the ultimate version had no webbing).
Otherwise the storyline appears to follow the first 8 issues of the Ultimate comic.

The crux of this film will be that Peter's parents were murdered by Oscorp to steal their genetics research, which ends up empowering Peter and Doc Conners.

In the classic comics, his parents were spies and were murdered by the Red Skull's people and had nothing to do with Peter's powers.
