Dwayne Johnson and Taylor Lautner in "David vs Goliath" Film?Submit Comment
Relativity Media has been working on "Goliath" film, a new take on the "David vs Goliath" Biblical tale that has Scott Derrickson (The Exorcism of Emily Rose, The Day the Earth Stood Still) attached to direct from a script by John Payne and Patrick McKay.

Twitch has now learned that Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is in talks to play Goliath and Taylor Lautner (Twilight) is in talks to play the role of David. The latter is not much of a surprise since "Twilight" producers Marty Bowen and Wyck Godfrey are also involved.

The story is set in motion when the fierce warrior Goliath is sent to track down a foretold king of the Israelites. A young shepherd David is thrust into an epic chase and adventure fighting for his own life, the lives of his loved ones and eventually the lives of his people. The story climaxes in a battle of literal Biblical proportions between the young man and the giant sent to destroy him.

WOW this story beats the Crow Remake with Channing Tatum and Mark Wahlberg. The End of the world is coming even faster than expected

That would be interesting if they change the outcome of the story, and make Goliath crush f***ing David. Lautner has zero expression and can't act.

Didn't sound too bad until I actually read the story outline.

Fecking sh*te!!

and so they decide to warp a biblical tale for a sh*tty action movie. what the f*ck? that passion of the Christ 2 from family guy might not be a nightmare anymore ...

I hope they cut out the brokeback scene!

it's funny cause the actual historical events surrounding david vs. goliath are far more interesting than this legendary fictionalized version.

@ranger

its coming in the end after the credits.

@tt

Or maybe they should start with it, you know... to keep the audience engaged.

And maybe after that R.P could join too.

Bang my twilight ass - new title for the movie

So I guess Fast Five was just a tease. Looks like the Rock is back to making sh*t again. The idiots behind this Lautner movement should be shot in the streets. Kid is one of the worst actors in Hwood, and I personally think he looks like a racoon on steroids. I definitely wouldn't trust him around my trash cans.
Ranger writes:

lol...

@Rambo - there will be c*mming alright, I'm guessing it'll be The Rock in Lautner's trailer.
Ranger writes:

Just look at that picture...

David (with his bag of lube) is whipping Goliath's nuts and they're both lovin' it!

Perfect for The Rock and Lautner, I'd say.

are they really going to film him as a giant? Because the oldest stories only put him at "4 cubits and a span" which is only 6'9"... not some supernatural height.
Ranger writes:
on September 1st, 2011 at 12:17:30 PM

@rabid - back in a time when full grown men were probably 110 pounds. I'd say he'd be a Goliath.
Ranger writes:
on September 1st, 2011 at 12:17:47 PM

And 110lbs is being generous.
vaodsi writes:

yeah people were much shorter an smaller a couple thousand plus years ago. Hell people were heck of smaller even just a couple hundred years ago.

Some versions say he was like 6'9" though MOST say he was 9'6". Either way, when the average dude is 5 feet tall that's pretty big. I mean 6'9" is pretty big now. kinda... i mean ron artest is 6'9". basically, david was a very short jew and goliath was an NBA player.
Ranger writes:

@vaod - even 90 years ago (people were much smaller). Anyone visit a museum and see the WWI uniforms? I could barely fit my c*ck into one of those (and yeah... my c*ck is THAT f*ckING BIG!!!!).
Ranger writes:

Was David really a Jew?

If so, why didn't he just inhale and defeat Goliath via suffocation?

jikae writes:

Well, that's besides the fact that David was only 12 or so when he killed Goliath. I know they've had 30 year olds pose as high school kids in Hollywood, but this is just ridiculous.
