"The Invisible Man" Remake is Moving Forward

"The Invisible Man" Remake is Moving ForwardSubmit Comment
LA Times caught up with "The Dark Knight" writer David Goyer, who revealed that he's still working on an "Invisible Man" remake for Universal Pictures.

"It's a period film but it's period like Downey's 'Sherlock Holmes,'" he said. "It's period but it's a reinvention of the character in the sort of way that Stephen Sommers exploded 'The Mummy' into a much bigger kind of mythology. That's kind of what we’ve done with 'The Invisible Man.'"

The character was introduced by HG Wells back in 1897 and then first appeared on screen in 1933 in "The Invisible Man." Goyer added that if the studio can find the right actor, development on the remake will likely become a top priority.

"It's something slowly working its way through the Universal development channels," he explained. "It's still alive. We did some pre-vis tests that they were very happy with. Now we're going through the casting process. If they get the right lead, they'll make it."

Has anybody seen the original 1933 movie? Can you tell me if it is good. I dont know about the remake. Is it bad or good to remade this movie?

@super

The original movie is good, has a dark tone to it. With what they had special effects wise back then they did a very good job.

The remake in the 80's was just misjudged, they played it as a comedy and I don't think it worked.

On subject..

If they keep to how the original was then yes to this...but didn't we already have an invisable man movie with the great Kevin Bacon.

"Hallow Man"

Only way I see this working is if the whole time while he's invisible, he's inside the ladies showers and sorority houses waiting for the girls to "experiment" on each other

Heard they're working on the sequel already. "The invisible woman". Starring Amy Winehouse.

I wonder if HG Wells great grandson will have a hand in this like he did with the Time Machine remake. oyea I f*ckN KNEW IT! Hollow Man kicked ass already tho. bet they wont show a wang in this one. my next prediction: 'monster squad' remake. its that twilight bitchz fault, this is the pussified monster movie generation

@supersweetguy - the original was very good. Claude Rains was a superb actor and he did a great job in the film. The supporting cast...meh, not so much. Overall, I recommend the original "Invisible Man."

Get it?! Invisible Man... can't see him?!
Because he's INVISIBLE!

I liked the original, good special effect for its time. The lead character should be english like the original if they do the remake,I say hugh jackman(not english)but he was dark in the prestige or hugh laurie
