"The Last Exorcism" is Getting a Sequel

"The Last Exorcism" is Getting a SequelSubmit Comment
Apparently "The Last Exorcism" was not last after all, since now comes word that the producers of the film are moving ahead with a sequel and have hired Damien Chazelle to write the script.

"Exorcism" centered on an Evangelical preacher (Patrick Fabian), who, after years of performing exorcisms, decides to allow a documentary crew to film the last exorcism he plans to perform, in order to show his work is a fraud.

The 2010 film cost only $1.8 million to make, but went on to gross over $67 million worldwide. The follow-up has already secured financing and is planning to begin shooting this fall. No word if the budget will remain low or whether Eli Roth will return to produce.

The last exorcism had one of the worst endings in movie history. If there is an ending that can ruin the entire movie in every way possible, this was it. I hope the makers learnt from the first one and dont make such a retarded mistake again.

Why do people still bother watching those movies? The Exorcist, the first and real one, was the only good one. All the numerous sequels were rubbish.

I like the ending however I donīt see where they can take from here.... I hope is not another crew to doc*ment the disappearance ala Blair Witch Project 2.....

Johnnyb exactly, but i'm willin to have my opinion swayed on what Eli Roth has to say bout whether he'd return or not. those blair witch guys totally f*cked off that cash cow

That ending was really bad, destroyed everything the movie had built up to that point. And, sadly, I think if they make a sequel they will focus on the sect.

actually I shot "The Last Exorcism" with my mates on the weekend no sweat. did it in like 10 hours, then spend the day laughing my ass off in an armchair thinking of how many fools will pay to see this piece of sh*t...

Did it on my I-phone:)

It's funny, when films put something with Exorcism in the title, people go apesh*t and flock to see it.
Nothing but the actual Exorcist movies, do I consider to be part of the franchise. The others are just coining the word that attracts movie-goers.

Never actually sat down and watched The Last Exorcism... probably cause of all the mixed opinions about the ending. I hear its either amazing, or sh*t. Should I even bother checking it out at this point?

And seeing this getting a sequel makes me think of Quarantine 2... did that ever come out on DVD yet or what? Not that I'm interested, I just remember seeing the same sort of news for Quarantine.
