Police Blow Up Movie Script Left at Talent Agency

Police Blow Up Movie Script Left at Talent AgencySubmit Comment
It can be tough for aspiring screenwriters to get someone in the industry to read their scripts, which is why some resort to drastic and desperate measures. LA Times has now learned of one man who thought it was a good idea to leave a briefcase, containing his script, at a Beverly Hills talent agency.

His plan was for someone to find the briefcase, then find his script, read it, fall in love with it and make a movie. Unfortunately, things went very different.

A security guard spotted the briefcase, and out of fear that it might be a bomb, took it into an alley behind the building. He then called police, who cordoned off the area and evacuated adjoining offices. Soon after, the bomb squad arrived and detonated the briefcase, which contained the script and a laptop computer.

The man was briefly detained at the scene before being released. Those familiar with the case say that the man harassed the agency several times in the past in an effort to get his script read.

Hahaha. The cherry on top would have been that they jail the guy for leaving his briefcase unattended. That would be a good script. And then he'll have even more time to write more scripts behind bars. Stupid loser...

Don't worry the script was for Big Momma's House 4

What a dumbass...Everyone knows that the best way to get a talent agency to read your screenplay is to kidnap the kid/wife/grandmother of the agency's main owner and bury them alive out in the middle of nowhere with a limited supply of oxygen.

Because let's face it, if you can't write a screenplay that's so damned good that the talent agent still wants to work with you in spite of the fact that he hates your f*cking guts cause you kidnapped his kid/wife/grandmother, then maybe you just don't have what it takes to be a screenwriter.

It was for Hurt Locker 2. They were filming. This is just hype.

How about sending that line-jumping, self-important, time-wasting *sshole a bill for wasting the time of the Police Force for an unnecessary call?

f*cking police are just so f*cking obsessed with blowing sh*t up they'll use every f*cking lame opportunity they get. Are we sure Michael Bay wasn't impersonating a sh*tty cop that day?
pornfly writes:

Hollywood knew it was an original idea so they 'took care of it'
Ranger writes:

Yeah... if the guy wanted his script looked at he should have pasted a 'Re-Make' bumper sticker on the outside of it.
JohnZee writes:

Original ideas are like *ssholes, even the dumbest schmuck in the world can have one.

If I had a dime for every time some idiot came up to me with some "original" idea so convinced that it not only meant something, but that Hollywood would be begging to make their film I'd be a multimillionaire.

Sorry to break it to you but Hollywood has had no interest in original ideas from unproven talent since before the early 1940's.

Even if you have a badass original idea, and perfectly write it out, chances are at best it will just be a strong example of what you can do...Which might get a script writing bone thrown your way.

So better to write a by-the-book heavily formulaic ROMCOM that is the exact opposite of an original idea.

" This script will blow away the competition! I can feel it..."

Exactly, it was an original idea not a remake or reboot.

I wish the script was for the remake of Commando, Short Circuit, Bloodsport or Dirty Dancing.

Or maybe another script for a Uwe Boll movie.
Max Rockatansky Junior writes:

Guess Jason won't have to wait long enough to find out if his Conan sequel will be greenlit.

On a related note ... Swai aka Watson aka The Pumpernickel Bandit aka Oggi P. Washbug found out that his spec script about his life was incinerated in a destruction initiated by the agent he left his briefcase with.

Oh well, Oggi ... better luck next time.
