Disney's Bizarre "Snow White" Film is Moving Forward

DisneySubmit Comment
There are already two live-action "Snow White" film in the works, including "Snow White and the Huntsman" with Kristen Stewart, Chris Hemsworth and Charlize Theron, and "The Brothers Grimm: Snow White" with Lily Collins, Armie Hammer and Julia Roberts.

And now comes word that Disney is moving forward with their own "Snow White" project, called "The Order of the Seven," that recently signed commercials director and visual effects expert Michael Gracey to replace Francis Lawrence (I Am Legend), who was previously attached.

The story focuses on Snow White's seven companions, who are a 19th century band of international warriors belonging to a centuries-old order who have lost their way. Their meeting with an Englishwoman being chased by an ancient evil is the catalyst for their redemption.

While the project is set in China, the warriors will be from locales near (the US) and far (Russia), and each warrior will have a unique fighting style. The script is written by "Toy Story 3" script Michael Arndt.

Very cool. People think the idea sounds foreign, but its actually one of the oldest interpretations of the story. It's how the Russians tell it.

If it's an animated movie, it could be fun to 7 watch dwarves warriors fighting, each being a martial artist in their own style: karate, kung-fu, thai boxing, wrestling, tae-kwon-do, brazilian jiu-jitsu, sambo...

I could see Dopey or Sleepy fighting using Drunken Monkey boxing.

@rabid

Being russian, I've never heard it.

Seven dwarves - international warriors, centuries old order?

No f*cking idea.
