Today we have the trailer for "Shaolin," starring Jackie Chan (Rush Hour), Andy Lau (House of Flying Daggers), and Nicholas Tse (Shaolin Soccer). The film is set to get a limited release on September 9th. Check out the trailer below.

Plot: As feuding warlords fight to expand their power, the noble monks of the Shaolin Temple clean up the mess left behind, tending to the injured while trying their best to protect the poor and weak. General Hou (Lau) has caused much of this mess with his violent and ruthless tactics that rarely discriminate between soldiers and civilians. When Hao is betrayed by fellow general Cao Man (Tse), he is forced into hiding, and takes refuge with the monks (Chan) at their hidden mountain temple.

As the days pass, he finds himself more and more at ease as he learns the ways of peace, and begins to release his hatred through Martial Zen. But Cao is not far behind, and war soon reaches the temple, where the monks are ready to fight back - with their unstoppable Shaolin Kung Fu.

I saw this like four months ago or something. I enjoyed it but it was like a Chinese version of the 'Last Samurai' where the military guy becomes the last of their kind like Cruise did. Silly.

Btw, Chan only has a minor role in this.

It's nice to see that Jackie learned from those years making bad Hollywood movies: Rush Hour, Rush Hour 2, Rush Hour 3, The Tuxedo, Shanghai Knights, The Spy Next Door ....

Oh, and please don't dub your movies again (Rumble in the Bronx; Supercop)...

Thanks.

This trailer looks promising the premise..... However I was recently in Henan, the land of Shaolin Temple and over there I was expecting to watch a real kung fu performance but after all turns out it was more like a magic trick show and acrobatic than a performance of execution of arts on kung fu.... so people donīt believe everything you see here because maybe just maybe Shaolin Temple is not what it looks like.....

What it is this Jackie's 101st film? I like the 1st 2 Rush Hours, but the 3rd was the 1st movie I ever walked out of.

"It's nice to see that Jackie learned from those years making bad Hollywood movies"

Jackie made those movies because they were fun and a paycheck. He has been consistently solid in Hong Kong for decades (Legend of Drunken Master being his best, in my opinion). Sure, it's taken him a while to pull off dramatic acting, but as Chewy said, Chan is a living legend. I can't wait for 1911, coming off of how incredible Shinjuku Incident was.

And for the record, Forbidden Kingdom was awesome, as was Karate Kid.
