Trailer: "Spartacus: Vengeance" Starz TV SeriesSubmit Comment
Last week at Comic-Con, Starz premiered a trailer for the upcoming "Spartacus: Vengeance" TV series, which stars Liam McIntyre as the new Spartacus. A shorter version appeared online soon after, but now we have the entire thing. Watch it below.

Season 2 picks up with Spartacus and his fellow gladiators now out of Capua and engaged in a massive slave rebellion with Roman society. It is set to premiere in January of 2012 on Starz.

Spartacus in Season 1 was played by Andy Whitfield, who left the series to battle cancer. "I've spoken to Andy and he's a wonderful gentleman," McIntyre said at Comic-Con. "I understand Andy called up the guys and said he wanted the show to continue. He gave his blessing to the show and obviously I'm very grateful for that. It makes my job easier knowing that the guy who started the whole thing is OK with it. That means a whole lot to me."

The Spartacus Starz series is f%^&ing amazing! Sure there's plenty of sex, nudity, and ultraviolence, but there's also outstanding acting and storytelling to match. Its too bad that they have go on again without the original star of the show. I thought he would have recovered by now. Must be pretty bad. Anyone heard how he and Dexter are doing lately?

I loved the first season.But,By Jupiter's c*ck that new guy sucks.I hope the series doesn't die without Andy this season.I hope Andy reprises his role for the third season

@Sac

Michael C Hall beat his lymphoma before the start of the most recent season of Dexter. Can't keep him down. Hope Whitfield can make a recovery and get back to acting eventually though. News at Comic-Con suggests he's doing better.

Y'know... only seen bits of a few episodes. I'm going to wait 'til this show does its run then buy the boxset. It's an amazing production with amazing effects pulled off very well.

whitfield's boot will be hard to fill but i think they might have pulled it off looks sh*t hot, the guys who make this should be making big budget movies they got skills.

I have to say I have a man crush on Andy Whitfield, and I hate to not see him in this, but with the other good characters, like Crixus this should be good.

SaulSilver writes:

Sucks that Andy couldn't come back...but at least you can tell that the show will still be watchable. The new guy probably won't be as good but it certainly looks badass enough to overlook the change in cast.
Popcorn yea that's Gannicus...he's gonna be around this season.

Hey guys and girls, Andy has been off the show since the end of the first season. Season 2 was just as good if not better than season 1 without him. He obviously was surrounded by enough talent keep the show going in his absence. The show will really miss Batiatus (John Hannah)the most. He's the most talented actor in the production and his character was a total badass even though it was the only one that never fought or killed in the arena. I loved his blood and glory speeches he was always delivering to hype his gladiators to victory. Hard to believe that was the same idiot from those dumb (but somewhat entertaining) Mummy movies.
BlackDynamite writes:

@SAC: I'm with you on the topic of John Hannah, I almost was convinced that was his better acting twin, the difference was so great. Kinda makes the Mummy movies look even worse, that they didn't capitalize on his talent.
