Chilean Miners Rescue Film is Moving Forward

Chilean Miners Rescue Film is Moving ForwardSubmit Comment
Producer Mike Medavoy has acquired rights to the story of the 33 Chilean miners who were trapped underground for 69 days. Oscar-nominated writer Jose Rivera (Motorcycle Diaries) will adapt the movie, which is set to go into production next year.

The movie will recount the events surrounding the mine's collapse and the subsequent rescue efforts, which culminated in the retrieval of all 33 who had been trapped half a mile beneath the surface.

"Like millions of people around the world, I was completely engrossed watching the rescue at Copiapo," said Medavoy. "At its heart, this is a story about the triumph of the human spirit and a testament to the courage and perseverance of the Chilean people. I can't think of a better story than this one to bring to the screen."

why watch this stupid movie when you can just rewatch the footage shot live?

Keep it real, what Mike actually thought was:

- I just bought movie rights to that story about those mexican-looking dudes who were trapped underground for 50 years or something. You know what that sh*t means? It means we could get money AND the Oscars! At the same f*cking time! Will throw in some gay dudes or transsexuals to add more drama.
I'd also add some f*cking CGI-ed chilean giant worms and Will Smith to fight them, but Academy doesn't like giant worms and my people tell me Willie doesn't look peruvian... or whatever f*cking country that sh*t happened in.

Oh... it's also about the strength of human spirit and sh*t.

They'll make a movie about Norway shooting and explosion in 2-to-5 years. Anything to make money.

Kurskij - lol you read his mind .........

Looks like some nice worm action going on in your new avatar as well , lol

@boogiel

Wouldn't put it past him being in there if the money was right.

Oh and Alex...thanx for the spoiler alert...lol

So guys do you think they will go with the real ending if the test audiences don't like it?

Two hours of watching guys eat, sleep and take a sh*t ? Sounds like we are working at a company that takes those experiments in sleep deprevation, that you find in the back of a free newspaper.

Oh, and ** spoiler alert **

They got out.

And one of them cheated on his wife.
