Relativity Media has just sent us the trailer for the upcoming "Haywire" spy-thriller, starring female MMA fighter Gina Carano, Ewan McGregor, Michael Douglas, Channing Tatum, Michael Fassbender, Antonio Banderas, and Bill Paxton. Check it out below.

Plot: Mallory Kane (Carano) is a highly trained operative who works for a government security contractor in the dirtiest, most dangerous corners of the world. After successfully freeing a Chinese journalist held hostage, she is double crossed and left for dead by someone close to her in her own agency. Suddenly the target of skilled assassins who know her every move, Mallory must find the truth in order to stay alive.

Using her black-ops military training, she devises an ingenious—and dangerous—trap. But when things go haywire, Mallory realizes she’ll be killed in the blink of an eye unless she finds a way to turn the tables on her ruthless adversary.

The new movie is directed by Steven Soderbergh (Ocean's Eleven, Traffic) and is scheduled to hit theaters on January 20th, 2012.

Fight scenes look good, but in spite of the top-tier cast it all feels a bit cheap, no?

in intrinsically hate girl-power movies, and quite frankly would rather watch gina carrano in a adult film that this.

also does fassenbender's character die very quickly ? cos he's awesome

wow this movie reminded me of those movie trailers that play before you watch sun Van Damme movie on VHS! This looks good. Gina Carano is sum fine dish.

@mustard

Very cheap.

Still looks old school. Like Bando says, reminds of 90's Cynthia Rotrock action movies.

I usually hate female asskicking movies, but finally someone in Hwood had the brains and the balls to cast a real female athlete with the capability to make the action look believable and not some 110 lb covergirl attached to a wire. Curano is a serious badass in the octagon, so its nice to see her skills translate well onto film. She's also not bad to look at. She's got a great director and a nice cast around her so this film should literally kick ass.

A female kick ass movie, with a great cast (McGregor, Fassbender, Douglas), a good director and a real MMA female fighter? Besides she's gorgeous: awesome!
