"Superman" Reboot Pushed Back Till 2013Submit Comment
At the San Diego Comic-Con, Warner Bros announced that the new "Superman" reboot, called "Man of Steel," will not be released in December of 2012 anymore. The release date has been pushed back to June 14th, 2013. The studio clearly wants a big summer film.

Also at Comic-Con, Lionsgate announced that "Dredd," a remake of Sylvester Stallone's "Judge Dredd," will hit theaters on September 21st, 2012. Karl Urban (Star Trek) stars as the title character. The film will go head-to-head with the fourth "Resident Evil" installment during that weekend.

And Joss Whedon's "Cabin in the Woods" horror film, starring Chris Hemsworth, finally gets a release date as well. Lionsgate has scheduled it to hit theaters on April 13th, 2012.

Normally when a movie gets put back it is not a good sign.

@rambo

Sometimes too much time, will give you more time to tinker with it.

It could end up being worse than "Returns"

Warner'd better hurry. If I'm not mistaken, they'll lose the rights to make any Superman movies after 2013

Oh well, after the disater Green Lantern, DC did the right thing to push it to 2013 so they can work more on the Superman reboot.

There already were 4 Resident Evil movies, so "Judge Dredd" will go head to head with fifth RE.

Dave-They did the same thing with Star Trek. It was supposed to be released in Nov 08 and came out May 09 and it was still great.

@bad

I'm hoping too but well you know.

Well they damn better make this work. Otherwise, I'll see it as a WB's Superman movie is a chicken and scared sh*t to compete with batman, spiderman and the avengers in 2012.

f*cking c*nts in Hollywood. Lets keep making remakes, lets reboot the reboots and reboot those reboots. Unreal that you faggots can't come up with new sh*t out there.
HankTheTurtle writes:

@boogiel

It was never in competition with the movies you mentioned. It was scheduled to come out in December, well after any of those movies would have had any hold on the box office.

If anything, it didn't want to compete with The Hobbit, which no studio in their right mind would want to go up against.

fifth resident evil, not fourth.
BlackDynamite writes:

As embarrassed as i am to say this, Fail reporting Alex. Either you meant to put FIFTH resident evil movie, or fourth UNDERWORLD movie, because Afterlife was the 4th resident evil one.
