Robert Rodriguez Confirms "Sin City 2," "Machete 2," and "Heavy Metal"

Robert Rodriguez Confirms "Sin City 2," "Machete 2," and "Heavy Metal"Submit Comment
During the San Diego Comic-Con, Robert Rodriguez spoke about some of his upcoming projects, including "Sin City 2," "Machete 2" and "Heavy Metal.

"Sin City 2" has been in development ever since the first film hit theaters. Rodriguez has been looking to find the right time for the sequel and apparently that time is now. "Frank has written a script for 'Sin City 2,'" said the director. "It could shoot as early as later this year."

There have been talks of a "Machete" trilogy, and Rodriguez has now confirmed that "both 'Machete' sequels have been greenlit." The first sequel will be called "Machete Kills." The third film, called "Machete Kills Again... In Space," will not be a full-length film. Instead, it will be another fake trailer featuring space babes and a lightsaber-style weapon.

And even though David Fincher has been developing "Heavy Metal" remake, Rodriguez has now revealed that he has secured the rights to the film. "I recently acquired the rights to 'Heavy Metal' to make a large-scale media project and an animated film," he said.

funny how this guy, Rodriguez, is capable of the best (Sin City) as he is capable of the worst (Machete, Planet Terror and Grindhouse are 3 of the worst rubbish I have seen in the past 5 years)

"Sin City 2" will probably never happen. I will not believe one word from Rodriguez mouth until I see some actual footage.

Machete is a hit.It only cost 10 million dollars to make and it had everything people want in a movie profanity, racism,Boobies,Violence. It made back double it's budget.Sure it had some useless parts but is more entertaining than a 100 million movie than Green Lanten and anything with Sam the c*nt Worthington.

Planet Terror Was the biggest piece of Swine sh*t since the faculty.
SeWerin writes:

Anything man, just stay away from Predator franchise. You are good director but you don't know sh*t about that franchise
Freudian_Nightmare writes:

Didn't know that people hated "Planet Terror" (or "The Faculty" for that matter), I love it.
trailertrash writes:

Agree Freud

The only problem with the Faculty was the crappy they all lived ending.

I didn't mind Death Proof, But I know most on here hated it with a passion

Finally! He should make sin city 2 a long time ago. Just don't put Miller on director's chair/role.

Too much talk about Sin City 2...either f*cking make it or shut the f*ck up about it already.

DUDEabides87 writes:

Sin city 2 should just do or die already, its a guarenteed hit and will rake in money so he can make his spy c*nts sequels.

Heavy metal would be the tits, i'm more interested in that than sin city 2.
trailertrash writes:

I think he makes those Spy Kids movies So he can then make films like Sin City etc etc ......

bandolero999 writes:

Nope he's more interested in making a sequel with his 100 year old cousin Danny Trejo.they must f*ck each other he even put him in the Predator movie.

Brittany Murphy already passed away so her character wont be brought back.

HE talks nonsense, so far I have Avengers,Batman,Arnold's Last Stand,Expendables 2,Most likely ALIENS it has a good cast.

Robert Rodriguez is one of the few directors who can make the best and the worst movies, yet still make sh*t tons of money though.

You gotta hand it to him though, he's got power in the industry. His son had some dream and made doodles about made up superheros called Sharkboy and LavaGirl, and RR goes out and makes a movie about it, making millions of dollars.

Not many directors can do that. And before i forget, Sin City 2 better come out before all those other ones, and it better not have Smell o Vision, i've smelt enough bloody hookers in my day.

Zach Snyder and James Cameron are still goin to film an episode for Heavy Metal right? Last time I heard, Zach, Jim, David, and Rodriguez were working together on this. I would love it if it happened that way.

@ Freudian_Nightmare...i'm with you on that one...until i see a trailer or posters confirming it, i'll believe it as well...didn't they confirm this film to be released in 2006?...i used to tell people rumors, thanks to this website, now i tell hard truths
