Harry Lennix Cast in "Superman" RebootSubmit Comment
About a month ago, it was reported that Harry Lennix (The Matrix Reloaded) was in talks to join the cast of the upcoming "Superman" reboot. Now comes word that Lennix is officially on board to play a high-ranking military officer named General Swanwick.

The rest of the cast includes Henry Cavill as Superman/Clark Kent, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Kevin Costner as Jonathan Kent, Diane Lane as Martha Kent, Julia Ormond as Lara, Russell Crowe as Jor-El, Michael Shannon as General Zod and Antje Traue as Faora. Christopher Meloni is also on board in an unspecified role.

"Man of Steel" is directed by Zack Snyder (Watchmen, 300) and produced by Christopher Nolan (The Dark Knight). It is set to hit theaters in December of 2012.

This is looking pretty stacked. Hopefully Nolan can get Snyder's head out of his ass so he will make a good movie.

Yes let's hope Nolan keeps Snyder inline, Suckerpunch was total sh*t. Never watched anything so disjointed before. It was like an actiom movie for Kids, fighting robot,s dead Nazi zombies and walking stone statues, basically anything that doesn't have actual blood to tone down the violence. It was sh*t

The cast seems great, I hope this will turn out to be as good as Batman Begins and The Dark Knight now that it is being produced by Chrsitopher Nolan.

With Snyder on board and now we have another military person involved in the story

Yea thats original lets see where have Ive seen military personel involved in a Comic book movie before oh yea

The Hulk
Fantastic 4
Iron Man

Let me guess the milatary will be against Superman like they were in the above 3 movies

This is looking more like an epic BELLY FLOP with every WP announcement

1st off who the f*ck is this this guy, who really cares, has he ever been in anything good, or been more than background decor,NO. and honestly the movie really depends on how involved Nolan will be in regarding the writing of it, and if he has final word. Snyder is good when it comes to the looks of a film. But he has very little substance. Nolan on the other hand does have a good way of usually weaving storying into something entertaining.

Man of Steel. Awesome. That'll look great on a marquee. Most intelligent people will think they're going to watch a John Holmes biopic but the surprise is on them. The get a sour sad-faced Superman munching low-calorie granola bars and wearing environmentally friendly biodegradable underoos, because littering and fat is bad, certainly not befitting the Prince of Saiyans, I mean last child of Krypton, and Superman is nothing if he isn't a tool for Mother Earth.

I'll bet he steals Superman's car.

Annnyyyyyway...

I'll still watch this, with hope (don't ask me why... I don't know), but I love the character of Superman. Maybe one decade they'll get it right (with respect to Mario's/Donner's/Reeves Supes I & II).

The thing with Zack Snyder is He's more of a director Not really a writer-director (if that sounds right.) I haven't seen Sucker Punch yet I heard many different things about it so i can't really judge the movie.

Also I think Nolan will make sure Snyder isn't gonna d*ck around during the making of it. I mean He is very good with making comic book adaptation movies (Just take a look at 300 and Watchmen). But again this is just my opinion.
minkowski writes:

Zack Snyder is a concept artist who got to play director instead.

If anybody was gonna play a controversial role like Black Perry White or Obama, Kal-El's BFF it would have been this guy. Too bad, it looks like this movie is going to Pussificate Superman YET AGAIN
minkowski writes:

"Thats true as well Mink, Are you a fan of his other movies dude?"

Snyder? No. He has a specific, limited flare for visual style, but all of his films have little to no meat.

They're like that cotton candy you get at carnivals, the one with all the colors: the pink, the blue, the red and purple, yellow and green, visually attractive to some, but absolutely devoid of any and all nutrition. Nothing but sugar and fluff.

300 might have been Snyder's best film, only because Frank Miller is, even at his worst, compelling. And Watchmen was always beyond the ability to render properly into film.
