"Red" Sequel Already Has a Script

Posted: July 3rd, 2011 by WorstPreviews.com Staff
"Red" Sequel Already Has a ScriptSubmit Comment
During the premiere of "Transformers: Dark of the Moon," MTV caught up with producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura, who confirmed that a sequel to "Red" is in the works.

"We're trying to put it together," he said. "We just got a script and it's really good. We're all just now discussing how to put it all back together again."

The first film stars Helen Mirren, Bruce Willis, John Malkovich, and Morgan Freeman. Di Bonaventura says the plan is to bring back the same cast as well as add some new faces.

"I think the audience would be disappointed if we didn't bring back the crew, but we've got to freshen the crew," he explained. "We'll bring in one or two characters that'll play a really big part maybe three, but definitely one or two."

I enjoyed RED better 2nd time round, I would watch a sequel even though it's not really neeeded.

And More Helen Mirren with a giant machine gun won't go a miss either..

First half of movie was fan. But second was really bad and boring. You can just see when movie is starting to fall apart. Also it could use R rating since the comic book is violent as hell

Good, liked the first one, lots of fun and Malkovich was great.

Well, they beat the FBI in the first movie. What else could they do in a sequel? Beat CIA or other three letters agencies?

I presume the script is based on the sequel to the comic? Not that it matters after they turned the last one from a one-man-vs-CIA bloodfest into a geriatric comedy.

not a bad movie Willis managed to pull a good performance off as well with Malkovich.

New faces should include some washed up 80s and 90s actors that need the work

I Agree With Trailertrash. not really needed but still will be a good watch :P

So this sequel is going to have a 70's television theme and a laugh soundtrack? If so, I recommend "The Streetbeater" by Quincy Jones. Oh, BTW, it's awfully (not)nice that they are going to repeatedly not only rape Warren Ellis' story again (Alan Moore is now not the only graphic novel/comic book writer that now can say he despises Hollywood adaptations of his works), but rather sad that they haven't gone for Ellis' Global Frequency as an adaptation.

Haha @ Mink

I know he's India I wasn't making a race joke against him. I just thought Captain Pakistan would be a ludicrous plot twist...you know what f*ck me I'm not very funny lol.

This new film should be titled orange, the third yellow, the fourth green...until they meet the mysterious assassin known only as Roy G. Biv.

Whoa, wrong thread, Chewie, but f*ck, we've all done that. As for Captain Pakistan, I corrected you because most of fellow citizens not only don't know the difference between Pakistan and India, much less the history between the two, they can't find either on a labeled map.

Oops, Chewbacca, not 'Chewie' (who *is* an *sshole).

And why did Lucas name him Chewbacca? He doesn't even smoke.
Bandito dela Pepto Bismol writes:

If the sequel is a plausible sequel, then Morgan's character may have faked his death. But for the script to work, they're gonna have to reduce that plot hole smaller than something a semi can drive through, with space to spare.

I'm betting it's gonna be a prequel.
Bandito dela Pepto Bismol writes:

@minkowski

He named him Chewbacca to code the nickname he gave producers who never game him a shot when he was working on Coppola's set for 'The Godfather'.
Chewbacca writes:
on July 3rd, 2011 at 3:07:26 PM

Chewie or Chewbacca either one I'll take. And Bandito that's pretty interesting although wikipedia states "that Chewbacca's name is derived from собака (sobaka), the Russian and Ukrainian word for dog." But wikipedia as most of us know isn't the most reliable source for information.

Difference between an Indian and Pakistani is one cooks and serves you food the other drives you home in a cab !!

I liked RED but is a sequel really necessary? I hope it's good I really do but so many sequels these days that didn't need to happen but when they did were awful. Bad enough to the point it actually makes the original seem like it may have been a bad movie too.
