Guillermo Del Toro on New Live-Action "Incredible Hulk" TV Series

Guillermo Del Toro on New Live-Action "Incredible Hulk" TV SeriesSubmit Comment
Back in November, it was revealed that Marvel and ABC are working on a new live-action "Incredible Hulk" TV series, and Guillermo Del Toro is on board to write and direct the pilot episode, in addition to overseeing the look of the character.

Now, in an interview with FEARnet, the helmer gave an update on the series, confirming that everything is moving along nicely. "We turned in the outline to ABC about four weeks ago," he said. "And then we did a rewrite for ABC on the outline, and now we are lining up the pages."

When asked if the Hulk will be different from what we have previously seen. "I think so. Or we wouldn't be trying it," he replied. "Actually, one of the points of this project early on with Marvel was 'We're going to do this thing different and here's how. Are you interested?' And they were."

While most of the details of the series are being kept a secret, it was revealed last year that Bruce Banner will be in his 20's and that the Hulk will be a mix of CGI and practical effects.

Oh, he's writing and directing the pilot. Big deal, Bret Ratner did the pilot for Prison Break, the one thing he's ever done right in his worthless existence, so I see for del Toro this is an easy earning gig, like playing Mary HAd a Little Lampt to retarded children, but let's face it, no one but no one wants to see a f*cking Hulk tv series.

One film of the two was decent, but the character has absolutely no range, no depth, no charaacterization (except for the excellent work of the more humanized 70s show with what's his name and Arnold's little brother) and no appeal. Makes cool toys to run over with the car, but not much else.

And del Toro, how's about you getting off your ass and making a film. You now, one of those things with people and sh*t happens and usually runs somehwere in the area of 90 minutes. Think you can do that before we all f*cking die? Jesus. Guy has more on his plate than Zach Fagsucker hovering over the craft services.

Totally. Too much goin on with him. Nothing will be able to be better than Bixby and The 1970s. It was perfect timing. But I love Hulk, so Ill watch for sure. Unless Andy d*ck is involved...then for the love of Hartman...f*ck no.

Bill Bixby. That was his name. Great work he did, even if it was a little melodramatic, but it was good work for the times, still better than some of the sh*t they throw into the network lineup these days.

I thought the ones with Bixby and Ferigno were better than the recent Hulk Movies. Probably due to the oversize CGI hulk.

The last hulk movie was better than the 1st

^ For some guys, not for me. It was an overlong mess but not as generic and forgettable as the last one.

Ang Lee, the only person ever fully banned from helming another comic book movie.

I heard Hugh Jackman was gonna play Bixby in a biopic. Dude looks like Bixby too. And the Irony of playing Wolverine and almost the Hulk. Just crazy.

minkowski writes:

He fell from a plane IIRC, as the Hulk. That's how he died I think. Kind of sad, but also a really stupid way to die.

Yeah. That never sat good with me either.

The Hulk has tremendous amount of potential as a character but no one ever f*cking gets it right. Both films were sh*t. The first was just a clusterf*ck of random retarded ideas that had no connection to the character. The second had no sense of danger or scope with lackluster production and more CGI. On top of that they cut the final version down dramatically removing any substance it might have had.
