"Columbo" Star Peter Falk Dead at 83Submit Comment
Peter Falk, the Emmy-winning star of "Columbo" TV show, has died on Thursday night at the age of 83. The actor suffered from Alzheimer's disease and reportedly could not even recall his most famous character, Columbo.

Besides the hit drama, Falk was nominated for two Academy Awards, for 1960's "Murder, Inc" and 1961's "Pocketful of Miracles." He is also known for playing the grandfather and narrator in 1987's "The Princess Bride," as well as several John Cassavetes films.

Falk is survived by wife Shera Danese Falk and daughters Jackie and Catherine.

Cool. One celebrity this week that didn't kill himself by flying a flaming Porsche into a tree.

One of the rare actors nowaday's that

You dont hear bad things about

Like 400 DUI's
Multiple House arrests
Multiple rehab's stints at Dr. Drew's coffee and donuts rehab bar
Caught with possesion of 6000 pounds of dope in the trunk of car a couple hundred times

All while getting a doggie collar with the ability to travel anywhere in the U.S instead of prison time

At least I dont remember him getting into trouble

@hashbrownes - You have to admit that it's hard to give respect to the dead when the dead died due to their own idiotic actions

Sad news.

Not a huge fan of "Columbo" but sometimes they would have a good episode I'd watch.

A really modest, skilled talent in Hollywood. I loved the man's work.

THIS is class!

"@hashbrownes - You have to admit that it's hard to give respect to the dead when the dead died due to their own idiotic actions"

Or, far far far worse, took someone else with him.

Absolutely no respect for that guy at all.

Anyway, my grandmother liked this guy back in the 80s when he was doing all those TV movies. She liked Murder She Wrote and Perry Mason, Matlock especially, and I'd sometimes catch some of this stuff with her.

Ah, superior times.
