JJ Abrams' "Lens Flare: The Movie" Trailer

After "Star Trek" and "Super 8," the guys at Boy Genius Comedy noticed that director JJ Abrams uses lots of lens flare in his movies. In fact, the effect has become his trademark.

As a result, they decided to spoof Abrams by making a trailer for "Lens Flare: The Movie," which is basically 42 seconds of lights blinding the main characters.

Check out "Lens Flare: The Movie" below in addition to a "Star Trek" featurette that shows Abrams creating the effect, despite the fact that studios have spent million on technology to remove it from their movies.

It's become his trademark after appearing in two of his three films? Really?

I never saw any Lens Flare in 'MI:3'. 'Star Trek' had flares in every single scene. I haven't seen 'Super 8' yet.

Super 8 has more blue lens flare than all the lens flare in star trek.

Now that's new. Instead of 3D glasses, people will use sunglasses to watch his movie.

Somewhere John Carpenter is filing a lawsuit for trademark infringement. Nobody has used lens flares more than him over the last 40 years.

It's all over Fringe as well. It's really amusing when you notice it.

LMAO @ "his trademark" really??
But I will say this, I do like those little aspects that make a certain director's work recognizable. Like John Woo's stuff, you can tell. You can certainly tell a Spielberg film.
It's like Hip Hop producers as well. You can tell a DJ Premier track, or a Dr. Dre track or Neptunes. Their sound is so unique and they put their own musical flares on it.

Michael Bay's trademarks are explosions and sexism.
