JJ Abrams' "Lens Flare: The Movie" Trailer

After "Star Trek" and "Super 8," the guys at Boy Genius Comedy noticed that director JJ Abrams uses lots of lens flare in his movies. In fact, the effect has become his trademark.

As a result, they decided to spoof Abrams by making a trailer for "Lens Flare: The Movie," which is basically 42 seconds of lights blinding the main characters.

Check out "Lens Flare: The Movie" below in addition to a "Star Trek" featurette that shows Abrams creating the effect, despite the fact that studios have spent million on technology to remove it from their movies.

I never saw any Lens Flare in 'MI:3'. 'Star Trek' had flares in every single scene. I haven't seen 'Super 8' yet.

But I will say this, I do like those little aspects that make a certain director's work recognizable. Like John Woo's stuff, you can tell. You can certainly tell a Spielberg film.
It's like Hip Hop producers as well. You can tell a DJ Premier track, or a Dr. Dre track or Neptunes. Their sound is so unique and they put their own musical flares on it.
