Daniel Radcliffe Done With "Harry Potter" Forever, Not Involved With "Pottermore"

Daniel Radcliffe Done With "Harry Potter" Forever, Not Involved With "Pottermore"Submit Comment
"Harry Potter" author JK Rowling recently launched a new website, called "Pottermore," which will reveal a big announcement on June 23rd. While many are wondering if the announcement will be that Rowling is writing another "Potter" book, Daniel Radcliffe just revealed that he is not involved.

"I know nothing about that whatsoever," the actor told LA Times. "I'm sure that Jo will be writing a lot more in the coming years. I'm sure she has a lot more in her than we've read and a lot more stories to tell. As long as [her future books] don't involve Harry, I'm quite happy to buy them."

Clearly Radcliffe is not interested in returning for any more "Harry Potter" installments. "First of all, I don't think that she will [write another 'Potter' installment]," he said. "And second of all, the idea of going back to something after 10 or 20 years. At that point, I will have worked 20 years to establish a career outside of it, and at that point to go back to it would feel a little self-defeating."

"..going back to something after 10 or 20 years.."

What makes him so sure he will still have a career in 20 years?

I thought he would be the first one hoping for more Potter movies

Bullsh*t, he said he will be willing to return... as Dumbledore, anyway, by then Hollywood would have rebooted Harry Potter quite a few times.

Yea, that guy made 25 million per for the last few movies or so. I'm sure he's gonna be hard up for money after this series is over. Makes perfect sense.

LA Times... READ BETWEEN THE LINES!!!

EVERY actor in a 'demand' position has said the same thing as coached Danny here. Oh, I'll never come back... I'm done with it. Shatner said that after every single Star Trek movie... every one. It drives their price back at the bargaining table. Oh, I'm sure Radcliffe has something better to do if Rowling comes to him offering him $50 mil + 10% of the box office for anything Potter. Yeah, I'd like to seem him turn that down.

Good on Radcliffe for spouting this predictable, coached drivel.

Stupid of LA Times for not seeing this ploy.

He will go back. When people watch Women In Black and realise what a useless spastic of an actor he is he'll have to go back to the one role he's destined to play... then hope Rowling never stops writing books.. cause retards need food as well.

Reality check Danny, you're an actor. You have know idea where your career will be in the next 10-20 years. You'll be lucky if they still want you then to reprise the role.

Poor Daniel doesn't realise he has been officially typecast, I'm sorry but his image as being Harry Potter is pretty much set in stone.

I know it's hard only being remembered for one character but it's better than nothing and look at the money he's made, he is the new Mark Hamill and his career ends now.

sure he'll do a few flops as lead and then once the studios realise they can't sell him as anything other than potter he'll be offered minor roles, supporting ones, until he becomes an extra.

At that point he'll be screaming for Harry potter to return not dreading it.

... he's the next Mark Hamill.

Well said.

Obviously, if the title of the website is 'pottermore' then, and this could be a stretch (lol), she's planning more Harry Potter. Duh. Of course WB isn't going to let the bitch go that easily and of course the bitch isn't going to let herself go that easily.

And Radcliffe, man, what are you going to do? You're Harry f*cking Potter. That's all you are, that's all you will ever be. Face up to it, the money's good and there's loads of job security.

"First of all, I don't think that she will [write another 'Potter' installment],

Because the website isn't called 'pottermore' (more (harry) potter), right, you idiot?

"And second of all, the idea of going back to something after 10 or 20 years."

Who's to say they'll make a new film in ten years? Rowling may already have one book near completion, so a film could hit theaters in five years, meaning you go back to the trough in three or four.

"At that point, I will have worked 20 years to establish a career outside of it"

Flipping burgers ain't no career, kid.

"and at that point to go back to it would feel a little self-defeating."

Well, your lack of talent isn't winning victories on the battlefield of cinema, that's for sure.

@ Telur , i would think if that ever was to happen Ian Flemming would rise from the dead and shoot Radcliffe in the face so that could never be a possibility, i would sooner see an American take over the role of Bond then this twat... GARY COLEMAN HAS A BETTER CHANCE i would hope then Radcliffe !
