Christian Bale in Talks for Darren Aronofsky's "Noah"

Christian Bale in Talks for Darren AronofskySubmit Comment
It was recently revealed that Darren Aronofsky (Black Swan, The Wrestler) is pushing forward with his Noah's Ark movie, called "Noah," by shopping the $130 million project to financiers. New Regency has expressed interest and so have Paramount, Fox and Summit Entertainment.

The problem is that the film will never get funded unless a major Hollywood star is attached. Aronofsky understands that, which is why he started reaching out to some very big names. And now comes word that he's officially in talks with Christian Bale (The Dark Knight) to star in the film.

Aronofsky wrote the script for "Noah," but has now handed re-writing duties to John Logan (The Last Samurai, Gladiator). If everything goes as planned, "Noah" may be the helmer's next project.

Bale should pass. Aronofsky should pass. Studios should pass. We don't need, nor do we want to see, this sh*t.

Um no.

God I hope this project sinks, or at least only drags some bad actor on board. Where's Jim caviezel?

I hear Aronofsky's been flooded with requests to not make the film. I also hear the script has taken on water and has since cinematically run aground off the shores of failure.

"Where's Jim caviezel?"

His career got crucified after he played Christ. He's waiting for an acting resurrecting, but no one wants to roll the stone away from that door.

+resurrection.

I think you guys should give aronofsky a little credit, when he made the wrestler I thought it was going to be terrible but he proved me wrong there. Also he said it was an original take on the story so I wouldnt be suprised if it was some crazy concept that wont be boring at all.

I don't care what Aronofsky is making, I just want him to make something. It would be fun to watch him handle a big-budget movie and if it's his own concept, then it becomes more interesting.

Kind of pissed at Darren Aronofsky's decisions lately but casting Bale takes the cake. When will everyone realize that this guy isn't a very good actor? Who the f*ck cares how much weight he loses for his films, he's still the same sh*tty actor at the end of the day. Find someone else DA, Bale isn't worth the headache.

How can you all talk sh*t on a movie that is barley out of the script writing stages. And for a guy who's been more original in crafting movies than all the other robots in Hollywood. Its amazing that these same people who bash a movie, cause they are the same folks who will end up seeing it. Although it does seem an odd choice both for a movie and a big budget one at that, it will probably end up making all the other crap that comes out look like utter garbage. This guy obviously knows his way around making solid and engaging movies, so why snub an idea he has? Because your all pathetic losers who sh*t on anything or any idea that isn't mainstream. Bale is a bit over rated but c'mon the guy was. Great in American Psycho and the Batman films.( I picture bale as noah saying "I'm noah" and jumping off the deck of the Ark. Roll credits).

Could be fun, if only to illustrate how ridiculous the story is. It'd be cooler to see the tale of Ut Napishtim, the epic that Noah and the Ark was borrowed from.
minkowski writes:

Because you read that from a comic book, rabid, not because you read the original Sumerian works. And its Utnapishtim.

Right. I probably learned of Ut-Napashtim in a comic book and not while earning my Anthro degree or those study-abroad humanities workshops.
Probably not as worthy as your bachelors of wikipedia.
