Madonna's Directorial Debut "W.E." Acquired by TWC

The Weinstein Company has announced that it will distribute "WE," Madonna's directorial debut, which stars Abbie Cornish (Limitless), Oscar Isaac (Drive), James D'Arcy (Master and Commander), Andrea Riseborough (Never Let Me Go), Natalie Dormer ("The Tudors"), Richard Coyle (Prince of Persia), James Fox (Sherlock Holmes) and Laurence Fox ("Inspector Lewis").

"W.E." tells the story of two fragile but determined women - Wally Winthrop (Cornish) and Wallis Simpson (Riseborough) - separated by more than six decades. In 1998, lonely New Yorker Wally Winthrop is obsessed with what she perceives as the ultimate love story: King Edward's VIII's abdication of the British throne for the woman he loved, American divorcee Wallis Simpson.

But Wally's research, including several visits to the Sotheby's auction of the Windsor Estate, reveals that the couple's life together was not as perfect as she thought. Weaving back and forth in time, "W.E." intertwines Wally's journey of discovery in New York with the story of Wallis and Edward (D'Arcy), from the glamorous early days of their romance to the slow unraveling of their lives in the decades that followed.

"'W.E.' is about the nature of true love, and the sacrifices and compromises that are often made," said Madonna. "I've wanted to tell this story for a very long time, and bringing it to life has been a great adventure for me."

I thought it said WWE. That would have been a more interesting story.

What is W.E. anyway..Wisconsin Energy? White Elderly? Wack Entertainment? Etc.

LOL@ WP... Max called you on the incorrect article title and you delete his post?

HOLY sh*t.

My gestapo post was fine I guess?

You know Max was very much correct I forgot about it but I do remember when that film came out. Followed the lives of some new yorkers or some sh*t.. Which would make this NOT her directorial debut.

If you want to split hairs here. I guess you could change the title to. "Madonna to direct first studio film" As I believe her first film directed was an indie.

You were wrong and its just plain ignorant to delete that sh*t.

So let me get this straight, you guys report on incorrect news. You get called out on it and you delete the post instead of correcting the article? As a news site where the f*ck is the integrity in that?

That's bullsh*t.

I remember reading a book about those two, some f*cked up sh*t! They sure were no perfect couple, he liked to wear dresses, and couldn't get it up, she was trained in a Shanghai brothel, and loved Hitler!
