What Happens to Alfred in "The Dark Knight Rises"?

What Happens to Alfred in "The Dark Knight Rises"?Submit Comment
Christopher Nolan is now filming "The Dark Knight Rises" in the UK, and while he is doing his best to keep the story a secret, information is still leaking out.

SPOILERS AHEAD:

One SHH user had the chance to hang around the set. "The majority of the filming was going on inside rather than outside. All there was to see was some lighting rigs, two big Panavision trucks, a wardrobe truck and security guards. We did eventually talk to a security guard, who told us The Croydon Delta Point building is doubling for a Gotham hospital and Alfred is admitted as a patient."

In related news, actor Jeff Hammond updated his Twitter account with news that he may play a villain in the film. "I'm in talks with Chris Nolan to play another villain in 'The Dark Knight Rises,'" he wrote. "Can't wait to show my new face."

If they put anymore villians in this thing, it might have to be two movies...apprently, Gotham can rebuild hospitals rather quickly...

sh*t man first Bane, Catwoman, Nixon, Alon Aboutboul as a Mad Scientist, maybe Marion Cotillard or the the guy who play Ras Al Ghul and now Jeff Hammond also a villain.... this is absurd!!!!!

Could be anything. Could be cancer, pnuemonia, MacGregor's Disease...

And another villain? Jesus. I almost have to believe some of these rumors are untrue, because it's almost every day we have new news about some addition to the villain line-up.

Eh. I'm sure it'll turn out better than I might think but seriously, Nolan, a film suffers when you have too much going on, like your last Batman film, and you should always have one main antagonist and one main protagonist. Keep it simple, because this multiple villain sh*t works well in graphic novels but not so much on the big screen.

People need to stop bitching about the number of villains.....just because an actor says his role is a villain, doesn't mean theyre adding another major villain to the cast. He could easily just play some street thug in one scene or Catwoman's former pimp. Something small like that.

@Big_daddy:

It's a well known fact that most story-based material, whether its film or books, suffers when you go boyond the villain/hero dichotomy. Batman isn't Shakespeare, it isn't Charles d*ckens or Dostoevksy, and even those authors realized the limitations of having too much go on throughout a book.

my god people not all these villains are going to be in conflict with batman as the main villains! damn calm down.

batman begins - 2 ras al ghuls, scarecrow, zsasz, the entire league of shadows, twins from arkham, carmine falcone.

the dark knight - joker, two face, sal maroni, the other crime lords, scarecrow

so far we have bane. alon aboutboul most likely as hugo strange. and somebody will most likely show up as alberto falcone.

catwoman is NOT a villain in the movie. and theres nothing saying talia al ghul (who would make since to show up especially since ras does again) will be a villain either.

ras al ghul, yea hes in it, but only in flashbacks. not present day. scarecrow could show up again but he still wouldnt be the main villain.

talia, bane, scarecrow and the league could all be working together for all we know. just cause theres big names doesnt mean theres that many different things going on.

its based off of the long halloween. look how many villains were in that and it was a great book. then you take aspects of knightfall with bane and mix into the story with a little bit of one of hugo stranges stories probably and you have dark knight rises.

and another point here, arkham plays a big role in TDKR eventally. therefore how many inmates need casted for that? i know if i was in talks with nolan to play an inmate at arkham id make it sounded cooler then saying "i maybe playing a guy in jail". id call myself a villain or something too.

i stand by what i say still that the main villains will only be bane, hugo strange, and alberto falcone. possibly with talia al ghul leading the league of shadows, which bane could easily be a part of. which would mean scarecrow would also probably return to help them as well. everyone else other then crime bosses, henchmen, and memebers of the league will be in minor roles like victor zsasz in batman begins.
