Navy Challenges Disney's "Seal Team 6" Trademark

Posted: May 26th, 2011 by WorstPreviews.com Staff
Navy Challenges DisneySubmit Comment
We recently announced that Disney attempted to trademark the name "Seal Team 6," which is the counter-terrorism unit responsible for killing Osama Bin Laden. The trademark is for toys, clothing, Christmas decorations and entertainment.

Disney filed on May 3rd, but now comes word that the Navy filed their own application on May 13th in order to acquire the "Seal Team 6" trademark. The Navy is hoping to use the term for posters, clothing and other "Navy SEAL" goods.

At this point, it's still unclear how the entire thing will work out since it takes at least three months for the US Patent and Trademark Office to review applications. Stay tuned.

Good idea for a movie, Navy Seals go in and take out Disney.

f*cking trademarking the name of a military unit?
Disney can go and f*ck themselves. Hope the NAVY gets it

Dave-now that I would pay to see.

@The Skippy Spartan

They can technically trademark because the unit doesn't technically exist so it's not an official name. Only a rumor, I suppose if they actually came out and said there was a Seal Team Six then Disney probably couldn't do this. Lame, yes, but totally legal. The Navy should get it if they want it regardless of anything, but I think they'd have to acknowledge the team's existence first and that probably won't happen.

pakistan intelligence said the helicopter that flew into the so called osama bin compound blew up as it flew out of the compound killing all the squad members on board, thats why there was half a chopper hanging over the compound wall and thats why obama could'nt publicly award them medals ,they blew up there own soldiers to cover up the lie. infowars.com
minkowski writes:

That's not true. The helicopter couldn't clear the compound walls and had to make a hard landing. They then blew up the helicopter to keep the technology out of foreign hands.

Inifowars.com is utter bullsh*t.

@Cinemaisdead, Im sure they ARE worrying about that, just as any Soldier is..its just the principle of someone trying to cash in and make money off someone elses name.

f*cking WOW!

Christmas decorations?

I can see the ads: "Merry Christmas from the unit who shot Bin Laden in the face, kids!"

"publicly award them medals"

Are you kidding? That would be like publicly signing a death warrant for them.

"murderous muslim religious fanatics"

That's like, what, three, four times redundant?

Definitely three. the first murderous doesn't count in the redundancy of the other 3.
