Kirsten Dunst on Lars Von Trier's Nazi Comments

Posted: May 23rd, 2011 by WorstPreviews.com Staff
Kirsten Dunst on Lars Von TrierSubmit Comment
After Lars Von Trier stated that he's a Nazi and that he sympathizes with Hitler during a press junket for his "Melancholia" movie, the Cannes Film Festival immediately banned the director. But the festival didn't punish the actresses. In fact, Kirsten Dunst went on to win the Best Actress award.

During her acceptance speech, Dunst said: "Thank you to the Cannes Film Festival for allowing the film to still be in competition. I want to thank Lars for giving me the opportunity to be so brave in this film."

Many were surprised that she thanked Von Trier. Wondering whether she disapproved of his comments, several outlets reached out to Dunst, who said: "I shouldn't be affected by things that he said. He was very inappropriate and idiotic, and I'm pleased that the festival and the jury could see beyond his words."

When asked if she'll share the prize with Von Trier, Dunst replied: "No, it's mine."

"Melancholia" had a chance of winning the Best Picture prize, but the jury decided to award the Palme d'Or to Terrence Malick's "The Tree of Life," starring Brad Pitt and Sean Penn.

I thought her comments about him were going to be all kiss-ass.

"When asked if she'll share the prize with Von Trier, Dunst replied: 'No, it's mine.'"

Hell yeah, good for her.

She probably talked to Lars before hand and they agreed in advance to what she would say, so this news is meaningless.

'Many were surprised that she thanked Von Trier. Wondering whether she disapproved of his comments' --- those 'many' are f'ing retards. Her thanking him wouldn't indicate in ANY way she approved of his comments. Like I have to ask if people are really that stupid and can't make the distinction?

@tt - lol.

And Dunst doesn't fire the imagination either.

Not to defend Von Trieretard, but Kristen Dunst has more to worry about than her director. Like her stoic, stale, sh*tty acting ...

If the rapture ever does happen, I hope she falls into a sinkhole and gets impaled through that big ass head of hers.

The next time her hair is on fire, Von Trier can show her one of Hitler's favorite sexual picadillos and piss on her head.

@minkowski

As likely as those dumbf*cks who predict the rapture.

I personally wish she would get a Christopher Reeve.

Religious people are just stuck on stupid, and Dunst, I'd like to see her stabbed to death with a rusty spoon.

@minkowski

Or maybe she'll run into a rabid, European fan who'll perform a Jeffrey Dahmer, followed by an Idi Amin and then subsequently a Howard Stern/Carlos Mencia/Dane Cook.
