Stephen King Talks About "Carrie" Remake

Stephen King Talks About "Carrie" RemakeSubmit Comment
It was just reported that "Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark" writer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa has been hired to write the script for the "Carrie" remake, based on a Stephen King novel.

Entertainment Weekly now caught up with King to get his thoughts on the new film. "I've heard rumblings about a 'Carrie' remake, as I have about 'The Stand' and 'It.' Who knows if it will happen," said the author. "The real question is why, when the original was so good? I mean, not 'Casablanca,' or anything, but a really good horror/suspense film, much better than the book. Piper Laurie really got her teeth into the bad-mom thing. Although Lindsay Lohan as Carrie White... hmmm. It would certainly be fun to cast. I guess I could get behind it if they turned the project over to one of the Davids: Lynch or Cronenberg."

King feels that the movie was better than the book. That's not good since Aguirre-Scasa is planning to make the remake more faithful to the book.

I'll give the guy one thing, he's honest and pulls few punches when criticizing his own work, but I have to say King, you're early stuff is far better in terms of sheer enjoyability than the sh*t you've shoveled over the last fifteen years, so what does that say about you?

As for Lindsay Lohan, look, just wait for her to do a biopic, so we can see how mean the girl can really get onscreen.

Just as I said on the first thread about this.

@minkowski you do know he was a drug addict doing coke, heroine, pills, acid, or whatever with booze when he wrote his earlier works right?

You can skip wikipeida... his writing gives away when he went to rehab and sobered up. Pet Cemetery was probably the last really decent thing he wrote.

Ar least he's better than the hack Dean Koontz who just copy-paste his own work.

The hell you say!? And it wes cocaine and alcohol; I don't think the guy ever did f*cking heroin.

Maybe YOU should read Wikipedia...

"Ar least he's better than the hack Dean Koontz who just copy-paste his own work."

Marginally. They're in a dead heat as to who's worse. Koontz just recycles the same sh*t, the same undeveloped characters and plot devices, even the same tired vocabulary (preternatural!), while King just scribes well-written, more original garbage.
