Peter Berg to Direct "Lone Survivor" Navy SEAL FilmPosted: May 18th, 2011 by WorstPreviews.com Staff
|
Back in 2007, Peter Berg (Hancock) was planning to direct "Lone Survivor," about a Navy SEAL who led a team into Afghanistan on a mission to kill a Taliban leader but was the only one to survive.
Berg instead went on to direct "Battleship," but has now returned to "Lone Survivor" and is set to begin filming in January. "Battleship" star Taylor Kitsch is attached to play one of of four SEAL team members who fight for their lives.
"Bin Laden's death has cleared the way for this, a movie that will be an unapologetically patriotic film that honors and pays homage to an incredible group of badass guys who do this," said Berg. "The film will be a bit like 'Black Hawk Down,' but it will focus on the quartet, which is fewer guys than that film."

This is one of the most amazing stories I've ever read, can't wait to see the film adaptation. Not sure how I feel about Berg being the director though.

Great story about a hero, definetly have faith in Berg, especially since he did The Kingdom.
