Woody Allen to Star in His Next Film

Woody Allen to Star in His Next FilmSubmit Comment
Woody Allen was just at the Cannes Film Festival for the opening of "Midnight in Paris" and is now in New York promoting a new movie he's working on, which has Jesse Eisenberg, Ellen Page, Penelope Cruz, Alec Baldwin and Roberto Benigni attached.

Allen revealed that there is a role in the film for him as well. "It's a broad comedy, not a romantic comedy, of various tales interwoven," he explained. "I'm one of them, in one of them. All the parts are quite significant, there are no cameos. There just happened to be a part that I could play. I can't play the love interest anymore, which is tremendously frustrating. My wife and myself go to Rome because our daughter is going to marry an Italian boy that she met there, and we go over to meet him and meet his family, and what ensues. The film is very broadly funny."

The director is planning to begin shooting this summer in Rome. Meanwhile, "Midnight in Paris" is set to hit theaters on May 20th.

"My wife and myself go to Rome because our daughter is going to marry an Italian boy"

Isn't she the one and the same?

A sex tape with a minor doesn't count as starring in his next movie !!

Everyday this guy looks like a holocaust victim, guess he must think he's 25 again to star in roles.

What's up with this Jesse EISENBERG he's all over upcoming films these days,he'll always be that nerd from Zombieland to me

Why are people still giving him money to make movies, he is yet to make one movie that is interesting or entertaining!

Hearing great things about "Midnight in Paris" out of Cannes so hopefully he's back in his late 70s, mid 80s form.

"The film is very broadly funny." So the majority of the world will agree with this bold statement. I suppose his films couldn't get any worse f*ck it play every character Woody give up on life!

Yes! I'm very excited for this now. I thought he was done "acting," though, because in "Scoop" he used that line from "Broadway Danny Rose" in which he says you're a wonderful audience and a credit to your race. His fans suggested that was his send-off.

Either way it'll be nice to see him back on the big screen. Not a fan of Eisenberg, though.

Woody Allen, America's only director who makes films for people who hate good cinema.

Deadison, if you think Allen is talented then you need to pull your head out of your arse
