Video: Live-Action "Ambiguously Gay Duo" with Jon Hamm and Jimmy Fallon

Video: Live-Action "Ambiguously Gay Duo" with Jon Hamm and Jimmy FallonSubmit Comment
Ed Helms (The Hangover, "The Office") hosted "Saturday Night Live" last night, bringing some of his friends to help him bring Robert Smigel's popular cartoon sketch "Ambiguously Gay Duo" into a live-action skit.

The cartoon starts out as always, with the villains wondering if Ace and Gary are gay, but then a "flesh ray" turns all the characters human. Jon Hamm and Jimmy Fallon play Ace and Gary. The evil scientists, meanwhile, are played by Helms, Stephen Colbert and Steve Carell.

Watch the entire 7-minute video below.

That's big budget by SNL standards.

That stretching sequence was priceless... wasn't it Jake?

I havent laughed that hard with SNL in a long time. That was seriously funny sh*t.

Yup Jake and Che now have a new stretching routine before they "get down to business"

Yea, that was hilarious. I was laughing like crazy. I think Jon Hamm has shown that he has great comedy chops!

Errrrrrr If thats the best SNL has to offer, That show must in (and out of)the crapper !!

Anyway thats 2 new heroes for Jake and Che to look up too

(look up too = Jerk off too)

The episode all around sucked. Weekend Update is the only thing SNL does consistently well. All NBC has going for it now is Parks and Rec and Community.
velocityknown writes:

This was the best thing from the episode.

Seth Meyers would make a good writer for the Daily Show, but he's a terrible SNL head writer.

Also, Armisen's Obama is terrible (Jay Pharoh does a better one but they let him do very little for some reason).

Kristen Wig is funny, but she needs to move on, they're overusing her.

Basically the show needs a serious overall and/or Tina Fey back as head writer.

@ The Derp Knight
Michael Schur used to be head writer on SNL

He is now producing and showrunning Parks and Rec. Best show on TV right now.

@velocity - your assessment is dead on (as usual).

It's been a while since I've laughed at anything SNL has put out, but this was pretty good.
DaveThePhotoGuy writes:

Funnier than most of what I have seen recently from SNL.

I can see tham trying to turn this into a movie, they shouldn't though.

It only works in small doses.

Captain cabinets, trapped in cabinets. Can he get out? Will he get out? Course he will!

That was painfully unfunny. I hate jimmy fallon...

Agree on both counts there Trig ..
velocityknown writes:

@Triggax

He was arguably one of the worst SNL cast members ever. Couldn't keep a straight face to save his life.

Also not a great late night host. Especially considering he stepped into Conan's shoes.

Surprisingly good Emmy host however. As much as it pains me to admit that.
Ranger writes:

The worst thing (I think) about Fallon is that he over-laughs the guests on his talk show. He laughs at everything (he's STILL nervous, and laughs at everything they say out of respect, I guess?). And he's not funny.

Best thing (I saw) about him is when he was on Larry King. Unscripted... ergo he was funny when being himself. His impersonations are amazing. There's hardly no limit to the voices he can mimic.

Then again... it's the public that decides who will become stars.

Ferrell was no where funny, NOR the lead in 'Night at the Roxbury' - Kaatan outshone Ferrell in EVERY scene.

Sandler on SNL. Opera guy?! I mean... really?! And now he makes (or was making) $25 f*cking MIL a picture?!

And the most I have liked Ferrell or Sandler (I liked Happy Gilmore) is when they do dramatic stuff. Otherwise... THEY'RE NOT FUNNY!
