"The Expendables 2" Poster and Plot RevealedSubmit Comment
FirstShowing got its hands on the teaser poster for "The Expendables" sequel, which was inside a magazine at the Cannes Film Festival. Check it out below, along with a plot synopsis.

Plot: The Expendables are back and this time it's personal! After Tool (Mickey Rourke), the heart and soul of the Expendables, is brutally murdered on a mission, his comrades swear to avenge him. They're not the only ones who want blood. Tool's beautiful young and wild daughter Fiona embarks on her own revenge mission, complicating matters when she is captured and ransomed by a ruthless dictator plotting to destroy a resistance movement. Now Barney (Sylvester Stallone) and the Expendables must risk everything to save her and humanity.

Stallone will return to play Barney again, but will not direct the film. His replacement has yet to be announced, but a release date is already set for August 17th, 2012.

Sweet.

Please make this succesful and cast all the washed up 80s and 90s action stars because I rather see 6 expendables movies any day than that sh*tfest Fast Five and upcoming Fast Six.

"Tool" the heart and soul of the expendables
Funniest sh*t EVEr

I'm cool with the revenge plot..

Blow lots of sh*t up and kill tons of bad guys and get more action stars (a lot more)

The Expendables V The Avengers

Lol - dictator again!? Save humanity - LOL. Tool - heart and soul...omg. just stop it.

No need for another one. First one was a fail that has moved into mediocrity thanks to Stallone, Willis and Arnold scene.

But bring it on!!!

The poster is only so so IMO

But it's a start ....

Wow Mickey Rourke as Tool. This must be the high point of his career when he is faced with the challenge of portraying all four members of a terrible band. Talented, but terrible.

Not liking this at all. Stallon's directing? Not saying that's a bad thing but I'm not saying that's a good thing either, and killing Rourke? f*ck that.

The other thing, this whole saving the resistance movement = saving humanity bullsh*t, sounds like some eco-terrorist/nuclear warfare bullsh*t.
minkowski writes:

Poster looks Pirates of the Caribbean if all the pirates were f*cking terminators.

Awesome, can't wait!! I wonder who's going to play the hot daughter.
Joelh790 writes:

They should get Alice Braga from Predators to play Fiona. The plot sounds a bit too much like the first one and Rambo(2008). Have more Dolph Lundgren.

how many tropical island dictators can there be?? Let's hope for a bigger role for Willis and Arnold.
minkowski writes:
on May 11th, 2011 at 5:17:27 PM

I hope they shove that plane from the first film up Hugo Chavez's ass. Right up there, and a new place for Jake to call home.
Ranger writes:

Looked at the poster.

Not even reading the spoiler(s).

Still, the title alone appears to have given me a (checking...) 7.5-8 Expendables-class boner.
trailertrash writes:
on May 11th, 2011 at 5:26:54 PM

As long as there's a big hairy butt crack and a wallet full of cash, Jake will always be happy
minkowski writes:
on May 11th, 2011 at 5:32:21 PM

I wouldn't mention your boner, ranger, or Jake might try to bury it.
trailertrash writes:

Lohan gets 4 months in jail but could serve her time in her own home !!!

Don't you guys over there at least have open prisons ?

minkowski writes:
on May 11th, 2011 at 5:59:21 PM

We have Texas, America's largest prison state. Does that count?
Ranger writes:
on May 11th, 2011 at 6:04:07 PM

I love Texas!

At least they have the balls to use their Death Row!
minkowski writes:

damn, rourke was the best thing in that movie, at least he was the only one that could actually act in the film

anaheimducks writes:

Freudian_Nightmare writes:

I don't get it. They're mercenaries, a high-risk occupation, that usually involves killing a bunch of people. So when one dies under such a mission, The Expendables sees it fitting to avenge him. They have very strange moral-compasses.
DaveThePhotoGuy writes:
on May 12th, 2011 at 6:43:34 AM

Hey this kind of plot worked well in the 80's.

I for one am going to see this.
Dre-EL writes:

yeah lets f*ckin do this.
Joelh790 writes:
on May 13th, 2011 at 3:37:51 PM

Why was Tool on a mission? I thought he was a retired mercenary. How was he the heart and soul of the expendables?
"complicating matters when she is captured and ransomed by a ruthless dictator plotting to destroy a resistance movement. Now Barney (Sylvester Stallone) and the Expendables must risk everything to save her and humanity"
Thats the very same story as the first one.
Up until now I was really excited about it but the plot details have really thrown me off, it will have to take them to announce a good director and a good trailer to win me over
