"Terminator 5" Has No Plans to Bring Back Original Cast

"Terminator 5" Has No Plans to Bring Back Original CastSubmit Comment
A few days ago it was reported that the entire original cast will return for the fifth "Terminator" film, which "Fast Five" director Justin Lin has been working on. Several names being thrown around were Linda Hamilton and Michael Biehn.

MTV caught up with Lin and asked if there is any truth to the story. "No. I don't know where that came from," he said. "Everything has just been between me and Arnold [Schwarzenegger]. Just us going out and trying to find the right partners. I have certain elements, but it's never been about, 'Hey, let's bring everybody back!' I just don't process that way."

Lin continued: "To me, thematically, there are certain things that I want to see in a 'Terminator' movie. A lot of that does draw back to creating this timeline that is an extension, closer tonally to the first and second movies. But to me, it's not as mathematical as, 'Hey, let's get everybody back together and we'll shoot the movie.'"

The helmer said that in the next three or four weeks he will know whether "Terminator 5" or the "Fast Five" sequel will be his next project.

Just when you thought it couldn't get worse than MCG.

Bet you the whole fast and the furious crew will be in this sh*tfest.

Arnold you're toooooo old for this make a sequel to True Lies and reprise your role in expendables sequel.

Now all we have to do is not bring the movie and we are all set.

Wasn't that how Fast Five was made?

Does everyone on this website hate movies? :s

All I see all the time are people complaining, hating actors, movies, directors...

No matter what the news is, people will just bash it...

If he brought them back, people will complain because they are too old (as is the case with Arnold), and if he doesnt bring anyone, people complain that its not "terminator" anymore. Even if the movies doesnt get made at all, people complain that no one is continuing the story...

@Sergio: Many people have come by here to ask the same question: "Do you all hate movies on this site"? Each and everyone has received the same answer: "No." If we would hate movies, we wouldn't hang out on a moviesite, right? We complain when there's a reason, and celebrate when there's a reason. And you can't deny that in this movieclimate we have today, there's bound to be more of the former.

Ah come on, just let the franchise die already! I guess as long as morons keep going to cinemas to support this slugfest they'll keep pumping out sequels, what a surprise.

Digitally replace Arnold with Armie Hammer's face.

I saw "Fast Five", and I thought it was the best in the franchise. It was kind of like an episode of "Leverage" (complete with Tyrese Gibson and Ludacris in Aldis Hodge's shoes), but with slick car chases. And it didn't feel juvenile at all.

If Justin Lin can maintain the effort he put in "Fast Five", "Terminator 5" could make "Salvation" look like nothing happened. Moon Bloodgood was the best out of that whole film, so hopefully she'll come back.

'A few days ago it was reported...'

Was that by 'Latino Review'? What a rumor mill that sh*t-hole (no, not you... this time Jake) that is.
