Marvel on Introducing New Characters in "The Avengers"

Marvel on Introducing New Characters in "The Avengers"Submit Comment
While promoting "Thor," Marvel head Kevin Feige spoke about lesser-known characters getting their own movies, including Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) and Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) who can be seen in "Thor" and "Iron Man 2" respectively.

"We have started talking with Scarlett about what a Widow movie could be," he said. "Internally we've also started thinking what a Hawkeye movie could be, how we could continue to explore SHIELD, which has a pretty big part in 'Thor,' smaller parts in the two 'Iron Man' films and has a giant part in 'The Avengers.' What would a stand-alone SHIELD be like?"

Feige added that the only way lesser-known characters will get their own movies is if they are introduced in "The Avengers" first. "I do see 'The Avengers' franchise as something in which other Avenger characters might make their first appearance," he explained. "Then maybe if audiences respond to them they could spin-off into their own movies."

And regarding when we will find out about Marvel's post-Avengers plan: "Later, towards the end of the summer we'll announce what it is," said Feige.

Good, so not only is every movie Marvel makes a two-hour commercial for The Avengers, but now The Avengers is a commercial for other characters. What happened about making movies?

Marvel wants to do their movies like they do their comics, one universe with lots of crossovers. I'd like to see the entire marvel universe come alive. Of course they'd have to be very careful to keep the continuity in tact.

Freud- And when they've milked every last penny out of every last possible sequel then the reboots begin!!

Big Daddy- Lol Wonder Woman doesn't look like it's gonna break that trend either.

Black Widow and Hawkeye movies would blo. I read the script for the Black Widow film, and it's incredibly stinky.
If they want to use some of their lesser known characters, they should consider doing brief serial films before each picture.

both these wouldnt be good stand alone movies, not sure enough people could relate to characters that arent main stream like iron man thor or the hulk etc.
i think if they have thier roles extended in upcoming films then that should be enough.
i liked hawkeyes bit in thor...not sure what it wa but it was just a cool scene
