Quentin Tarantino's Next Film is Called "Django Unchained"?

We've been hearing that Quentin Tarantino's next film will be a spaghetti western that has Christoph Waltz, Franco Nero, and Keith Carradine attached to star. Now, a photo of what looks like a cover page for his script has appeared online and it has a title... "Django Unchained."

You can check out the cover page below, which is once again hand-written by Tarantino. But what's this movie about? In 1966, Nero actually starred in a spaghetti western called "Django," and Tarantino's version may be an homage to that.

The 1966 "Django" revolves around a coffin-dragging gunslinger who enters a town caught between two feuding factions, the KKK and a gang of Mexican Bandits, and is caught up in a struggle against them.

We've previously heard that Tarantino's film would heavily focus on slavery and likely be about revolutionary abolitionist John Brown. "He's my favorite American who ever lived," Tarantino recently stated. "He basically single-handedly started the road to end slavery and the fact that he killed people to do it. He decided, 'If we start spilling white blood, then they're going to start getting the idea.'"

Tarantino has been planning to complete the script and hand it to The Weinstein Company by around this time. If the studio approves, the helmer will immediately begin working toward a production start.

This is the best movie news I've heard in a long time. Especially if Franco Nero reprises his role as Django. Seems like the case here, as Nero returned to play him in several films. He's an icon to the genre. But who knows what this might become. When news of Inglourious Basterds first hit, everyone assumed it was a remake.

Franco Nero probably will have a small role/cameo but no way Tarantino is gonna bring him back to reprise his role.

I watched the original Inglorious Bastards on Netflix and was stupified. What a terrible movie he chose to remake. At least he drastically changed every bit of the story.
I've been waiting for a while for Tarantino to tackle a western film. This could be really good.

He already was involved in Sukiyaki Western Django so what's this?

Don't ruin Django with stupid monologues about feet and comicbooks.

Hope it is better than his last few efforts.I LOVE Tarentino films but he has been going downhill since Kill Bill 1.

He didn't remake it. He just liked the title and used that.

Seems to be legit. It's a spot on match for his previous handwritten IB cover page found here:

As for the news, eh, it's QT and he hasn't made a film up to snuff in some time, and I was never a huge fan anyway, so good for those that care and eh for those that don't.

QT should bring back Michael Madsen to this movie.he's one crazy f*ck.

It would be incredible if he got Ennio Morricone to score it.

So this based off the old Sergio film from 1966, but sounds a lot like Rango + Desperado.

Bando - Roth's been having a fairly good run on Lie to Me. Wouldn't put him in the same camp as Madsen.

Wicked.
I love that I have better printing skills than Quentin, yet he's a f*ckin' genius.
