Arnold Schwarzenegger Will Make "Cry Macho" Before "Terminator 5"Submit Comment
Arnold Schwarzenegger is planning to return for "Terminator 5," but that won't be his next project. NY Mag has learned that the former governor has selected "Cry Macho" as his return to the big screen.

The new movie is a drama that will be directed by "The Lincoln Lawyer" helmer Brad Furman and produced by Oscar-winning producer Al Ruddy (Million Dollar Baby, The Godfather). The plan is to shoot this summer, right after funding is acquired at the Cannes Film Festival.

"Cry Macho" is based on the 1975 novel by the late N. Richard Nash. Schwarzenegger will play a horse trainer who's just been let go by his feckless boss. In exchange for some retirement money, the broken and broke horseman agrees to kidnap the boss's 11-year-old son from his rich Mexican ex-wife. Things take an unexpected turn, however, when the ex-wife is all too glad to be rid of her juvenile delinquent.

Ruddy had Schwarzenegger attached to the film for almost a decade, but politics stopped the movie from moving forward. When Schwarzenegger was no longer available, Clint Eastwood became attached to play the horseman, bu that too fell apart.

I guess Arnold plans to play the Terminator leaning on a walker

Just film something already Arnie. The clock is ticking you ancient f*ck!

Who will play the 11 year-old juvenile delinquent... Charlie Sheen?

Just saw Fast Five today. Justin Lin is AWFUL. I hope he doesn't make the new Terminator!

They should save Sheen for Arnie's alzheimers voice when they do the 'All Roids Lead to California' biopic.

Is up to the producers ,if Fast Five makes 1st place then Justin Lin will direct and you will see Paul Walker as John Connor and the rest of the fast five franchise in Terminator.

Would you rather see Christian Bale in T5 or Arnold. I would rather Christian Bale
bandolero999 writes:

Edward Furlong as John Connor
Bale doesn't convince me but that will never happen
jdl107 writes:

Under the direction of McG, I'm sure no actor could convince anyone.

But why would want to pick between the two? Why not just have Bale and Arnie both?

But I'm curious, with Justin Lin involved why would anyone bother to care? Just because Arnie's in it doesn't mean sh*t. Unless you thought T3 was masterful work.

I think Arnold is too old and too fat to pull this off again

Cry Macho may seem to a good move for Arine in order to prove he can still do good acting for roles of his age but I hope Terminator 5 will happen.

With Justin Lin directing, it is something I am not sure about, I wish Ridley Scott, John Hyams or James Cameron would be the director of Terminator 5.

Does anyone remember the last Arnie western, it was a little train wreck called Cactus Jack.

With Kirk Douglas, Yes unfortunately i do...
minkowski writes:

AKA The Villain IIRC, and was, is, one of the most atrocious Arnie films in existence.

The title was changed overseas because The Villain failed at the domestic BO, and it was Columbia Pictures first attempt at filming a live-action Looney Tunes film.

They failed.
trailertrash writes:

They sure did Mink

Big fan of Hal Needham but that film really missed it's mark.

And Douglas what the hell was thinking........
