"Two and a Half Men" Being Rebooted Without Charlie Sheen

Posted: April 28th, 2011 by WorstPreviews.com Staff
"Two and a Half Men" Being Rebooted Without Charlie SheenSubmit Comment
THR has learned that "Two and a Half Men" co-creator Chuck Lorre is developing an idea to reboot the show without Charlie Sheen, who was fired from the series in March.

CBS is already aware of Lorre's intentions and so is "Two and a Half Men" star Jon Cryer, who will continue playing a significant role alongside a yet-to-be-cast character.

Sheen, who is suing Lorre and Warner Bros for $100 million, has frequently expressed his desire to return to the show as he continues his "Violent Torpedo of Truth" comedy tour. Sources claim that Sheen is setting up meetings with "Two and a Half Men" cast members to see if they would support his plan of returning. Lorre and Warners, however, are completely uninterested in bringing him back.

I understand why CBS would want to do this, it is/was one of their most popular shows. I just don't see it working without Sheen though. I can't imagine it would be anywhere near as popular.

Maybe John Stamos or one of the other names they threw around could make it work decently, who knows. I'm sure they'll do everything they can to bring it back in some form next fall.

@BadChadB33:

they already reboot Knight Rider, Mission Impossible etc

Rumor is it's John Stamos . But its gonna tank the reason this show has the following it does is Sheen is playing himself .

There's talk of Lowe replacing Sheen. f*ck off simpletons! Leave Lowe alone. He's doing great in Parks and Rec.

@nope.com
If they reboot Lost, maybe they can fix that sh*tty ending.

Does it count as a reboot if all you're doing is replacing the actors for one of roles, albeit a pivotal one? Was Bewitched rebooted when d*ck Sargent replaced d*ck York? How about when they replaced the dog playing Lassie multiple times in the original series?

Parks and Recreation blows ass chunks

Just kill off the series...any series that is popular because of one character rarely lasts after the character has gone.

Stamos has publicly declined the show (I guess Full House is enough on his resume... LOL!).

They should re-boot Charlie in the C*NT that whiny biach!

$1.8mil and episode and he tanks his income. What a tool!

And Chuck is the creator (and writer) of Big Bang... so Jim Parsons should Sheldon-Up and push for a HUGE raise after snagging that predictable Emmy win.

Remember Gilligan's Island didn't stay on long after they replaced Bob Denver with my d*ck in Ginger's cleavage and Mary Anne's ass.

That's why you don't bite the that feeds you, Charlie.

And rebooting wont work. Charlie was the reason of success. And just changing actor isn't rebooting, that's just a change. Too reboot you have to go back to the beginning, which means they have to replace the kid too (who is the reason of the success). What they have left then is Jon Cryer, who is the worst part of the show.

Emilio Estevez could work. But what i don't understand is what a person do on their off time is their business. It's not like he killed anyone.

Reboot the Three Stooges with some fat whiney loser with no comedic appeal.

Oh wait, they already did that. Twice.
Ranger writes:
on April 29th, 2011 at 12:57:58 PM

Look... even now...

Charlie is trying to crush his co-stars heads in with a door.

What a f*cker!

I agree with most on here. Re-booting without Chuck will fail. I also agree that what a person does with their personal life is their business. But another side of me also says when their private life starts hurting the 'image' of his show, and celebs do take the bigger paychecks thus losing that privacy, may be expected to set an example. This year will be interesting to see how this pans out. Charlie back to the show.... or Charlie dead, or something in-between.
Zeroguy writes:

Buckles, you are a fool.
Bouk writes:

I would like to see Denis Leary or Gary Busey take over the role. If it was Leary he could butt out his cigarette on Jon Cryer's forehead to end every episode, and if it was Busey he could just have a fit every night.

rabid writes:

It's a horrible f*cking show. It was a damn shame that they awarded it comedy program of the year as Better Off Ted was being cancelled. But it does make business sense to reboot the series. The kid has now grown up, so it's really a show about 3 Men and 5 years worth of acquantences... yet it's still successful somehow. If they can manage to keep the same audience, it'll probably make them money.
rabid writes:

Also, on a whim I watched the last episode aired just to see how f*cked up Charlie was...
I'm convinced the whole cast is wasted.
