First Look: Julianne Moore as Sarah Palin in "Game Change"Submit Comment
THR got its hands on the first photo of Julianne Moore as Sarah Palin in the upcoming HBO film "Game Change," which begins shooting today with director Jay Roach (Meet the Parents, Recount) at the helm. Check out the photo below.

Ed Harris plays John McCain in the film, which follows the Arizona US Senator's failed 2008 Republican presidential bid. Woody Harrelson plays Steve Schmidt, McCain's senior adviser. Melissa Farman ("Lost") will play Bristol Palin.

Larry Sullivan ("CSI") has been cast as Palin's deputy chief of staff Chris Edwards, while Jamey Sheridan ("Trauma") will play McCain's speechwriter and senior campaign advisor Mark Salter.

I just cant figure out why The Holly Nut Job Wood studios and actors dont leave America for

Socialistic or Communistic countries such as

Vietnam
North Korea
Russia
Burma
Cuba

Im mean womens rights, human rights, are so cherished in these countries and yet Hollywood loves to continue there brainwashing communist, socialist leaning ideals to Americans

I guess when they have finally learned that these stupid ideals dont work it will be too late by then they will be broke like the rest of these countries

there better be an HBO-styled sex scene between her and Ed Harris

Julianne looks more like Sarah Palin than Richard Dryfuss did looking like d*ck Cheney in Oliver Stone's W ... but then again, Richard didn't know how to play a d*ck that looked like a post Down's Syndome patient with a perpetual stick up his ass.

Ed Harris as McCain ? I couldn't f*cking buy him as Pollock, how the f*ck am I going to buy him as McCain ?

If Tyler Perry directed this he would have hired Lisa Ann to play Palin, which imo would have been a better choice. What do ya'll think?
boogiel writes:

Why they don't just hire Tina Fey? She's doing pretty good job parodying her.

Nice jaw Palin, you looks like Howdy Doody's Mom.

Moore > Fey
Moore is f*cking hot as Palin. And why Moore over Fey? Because Moore can act. She can serious and I bet she ha the ability to be funny, something Fey has lost since having kids (or a kid, idk)

Moore is cheaper than Fey and Fey is too busy with the sitcom

Fey is a one-trick pony. Before she imitated that buffoon, she contributed nothing to SNL.

MMMM! Juliane Moore dressed as Sarah Palin and Sarah Palin now that's a threesome I can handle.

"Another republican bashing movie"

If it's about Palin, they don't have to work very hard. She is her own parody.

Of what exactly? Is it a hilarious to live in Alaska? To wear glasses? To look good while being a mother and governor?

I'm no Palin fan, but the lady is no more hilarious and bufoonish than, say Ted Kennedy and Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton.

"Fey is a one-trick pony. Before she imitated that buffoon, she contributed nothing to SNL."

Exactly, and she was made a momentary star because she chose to ridicule a right-wing politician the left-wing media moguls and sycophants either fear or hate or both.

Palin is sex on toast.

Palin is her own parody, because of the b.s. that comes out of her mouth on a regular basis. That she is a self-admitted follower of the "Bush Doctrine" would be a punchline if it wasn't so scary. Also on the funny/scary front is the amount of people that actually listen to her, and believe she is a reasonable candidate for public office. If the mess she left in Alaska (professionally, not about to get started on her personal life) is any indicator of what her abilities as a politician would be like, it would be a mistake to allow this pop-culture accident to be anywhere near a public office again. Kennedy was an alcoholic. Obama actually has a sense of humor. I don't really find anything funny about Hillary, she's fairly wooden.

It's a toss up whether Palin is funnier than she is scary.

She looks great! Never saw recount so don't know what to expect.

Also if I'm not mistaken Tina Fey writes 30 Rock, which distinctly puts her above the one-trick-pony category. The wordplay alone in the script of that show is cleverer than most of the crap Saturday Night Live has put out in the past two decades. Why people would judge her negatively for getting her big break impersonating Palin is beyond me.
crimsonshaft writes:

I love Crazyhorse, he posts one rant, then is like wait a minute I didn't get my real point across no one is going to understand me, I need to post again. Calm down dude, take you meds. You automatically assume it's going to be bashing because you know Palin is a dolt too. If they would just put in the movie exactly how she acted in everyday life perfectly you would still consider it bashing.

Why is the fallback rebuttal always go to some totalitarian regime if you don't like America's conservatives. There are a few more socialistic countries in the world than that dude, and the others are communist as much as we are a pure democracy.

@Dave - throw Lisa-Ann into your mix and make it a 4-Way from Heaven.
Zeroguy writes:

@MoneyHayabusa
There's a slew of other writer out there that make 30 Rock better. Fey writes some good episodes but there's some that help give her some golden jokes (Donald Glover, of Community fame, is an example). Robert Carlock, Jack Burditt, John Riggi, Matt Hubbard, Ron Weiner. These are the true writers of the show. And it sucks since Rob and Jack are slightly vacant during the last two seasons. Maybe thats why the show sucks now.

As for Fey herself, as an actor. She's not bad. She plays things larger than they need to be, but sometimes she just gets certain things right.

But i doubt she has the range that Moore possesses, to do some serious acting and maybe add some depth to this idiot.
