"Cyborg" Remake in the Works

Posted: April 26th, 2011 by WorstPreviews.com Staff
"Cyborg" Remake in the WorksSubmit Comment
AICN has learned that "Cyborg" director Albert Pyun is planning to remake his own 1989 movie, which starred Jean-Claude Van Damme as a mercenary tracking a cyborg through a post-apocalyptic America.

Pyun told the site that he's currently in an "acquisition process" with MGM, but already has the financial backing of the same company that funded "Donnie Darko," "Memento" and "Monster."

A script has yet to be finished, but Pyun promises that there will be more "car/vehicle mayhem" with more emphasis on practical effects rather than CGI. At this point, Vince Klyn and Terrie Batson, who played the villain and the love interest in the original 1989 film, are already onboard for the remake. The helmer is hoping to also work out deals with Rutger Hauer and Michael Dudikoff.

The same actors in the original in a remake wow is that just creative or what?
Rutger hauer's like 90 yrs old
I'm not even gonna talk about Dudikoff how washed up that guy is.no one except people that grew up in the 80s know who he is.
This director is just as talented as Uwe Boll by the way

I quite enjoyed the original Cyborg.

Gibson; "Mother...."
Fender; "f*cker!"

The first movie was guilty pleasure
They made a sequel with Elias Koteas and a very young Angelina Jolie heard she showed her boobies is that true?

Bando-yes she did and I beleive she was underage at the time too. :) Ba-boing, I'm off to Netflix to watch it. :)

Yea dude I will investigate that as well
Now she looks like a crackwhore and thinks she's talented after she stopped showing her body parts there was no more reason to watch her movies.

Same financiers as Donnie Darko and Memento? Then it must be good...

If you want to see Rutger Hauer kick ass, go see Hobo with a Shotgun. Best movie of 2011 so far

Bring back Jean Claude Van Damme as the hero that would be awesome.

Instead of Albert Pryun directing the remake, John Hyams directed Universal Soldier Regerenation should direct the Cybrog remake.

Universal Soldier Regerenation was a awesome movie espically the fight scenes, those were cool.

Sure, why not ?

I mean, look how well Jean Claude has done for himself since this movie was first made ? *stunned silence*

Oh, yeah. Right.

The helmer is hoping to also work out deals with Rutger Hauer and Michael Dudikoff .... I hope they can find whatever trailer park Michael Dudikoff does security for now.

@bandolero999

True, Hauer is getting into older double digits .... but if Hobo in a Shotgun has shown us, he can still kick ass if he needs to.

He just has to do stretches and have a running sprint to do it.

Wonder if this will cut into Dudikoff's shift for broiling the fries at the local Carl's Jr ?
