Lionsgate has unveiled the trailer for Dominic Cooper's "The Devil's Double," which is the real story of the man who was forced to become the double of Saddam Hussein's sadistic son. Check out the poster below.
Plot: Bagdad is Uday Hussein's (Cooper) world and with his depraved lust for debauchery and immorality, he helps himself to whatever turns him on. When army lieutenant Latif Yahia (Cooper) is summoned to Saddam's palace, he is faced with an impossible request - to be Uday's body double or have his family condemned to death. In a world entrenched in betrayal and corruption knowing who to trust becomes a matter of life or death for Latif, as he battles to escape from his forced existence.
The new movie, which has been compared to "Scarface," is directed by Lee Tamahori (Die Another Day, xXx: State of the Union) and is scheduled to hit theaters on July 29th.

I immediately remember Kevin Kline's Dave, but this one is based on real story.

But I wonder how much is real facts and how much is fictionalized? This is only interesting because it is true, but if they take too many liberties with the truth, it will loose its value.

1. Who the hell is Jake?
2. Is anyone else bothered by a film that aims to glorify at least one of two men responsible for the brutal rape and murders of many men, women and children?
Scarface, now he was a thug, but he had honor and I don't recall his character raping children and mothers and murdering them thereafter.
In fact, IIRC, after Uday and Qusay were put down by a US missile strike, people openly wept in the Iraqi streets, glad to finally be free of two monsters; so, again I ask, what's so cool about this film?

Scarface did have some honor. If you remember he was killed because he refused to blow up that car with kids in it. But he did, kind of wanted to bone his sister... and that's kinda hawt.

I have to admit, this looks really good.
Cooper seems to pull it off nicely.

minkowski totally agree with you, at least we know how this ends, they get what they deserve, but I think this is more about the impersonator realizing just how bad these guys are and refusing to be him even with the threat of death, death is better than being his double.
