Abandoned Eddie Murphy Film "A Thousand Words" Gets Release DatePosted: April 22nd, 2011 by WorstPreviews.com Staff
|
ERC has announced that Paramount Pictures will finally release the Eddie Murphy drama/comedy "A Thousand Words" on January 13th, 2012. For those who have been keeping track of this film, it has been shot in 2008, but shelved after the failure of Norbit and terrible test screenings.
"A Thousand Words" is about a man (Murphy) who discovers he only has one thousand words left to speak before he dies. It is directed by Brian Robbins, the helmer behind such disasters as "Norbit" and "Meet Dave." Murphy starred in both films.
Apparently Paramount is still hoping to make money with this movie and has been re-shooting several scenes earlier this year. Those who have already seen it, don't think much of it. The film currently has a 3.6 rating on IMDB.

Well, Norbit sure was a sh*tty movie, but since when did it become a disaster? $95 mil. domestic plus another 70 WW. - pretty good result, especially for such an abomination.

Straight to DVD would have been a better choice.
Just cut the losses and run.

This might actually be interesting news if the movie was made back when Eddie Murphy was funny.

What's amazing is that Eddie could redeem himself with his fans and critics and make millions by returning to standup, but he still refuses. Delirious and Raw are two of the funniest live performances ever.

Why is the director's name in quotations? (Guess I would use an alias if I were connected to those atrocities too)

Perhaps "relevant" is the better word.

For a minute there i thought it was going to be his sex tape with a transvestite in the back of his limo.
Still that may have been more watchable than his last 10 or so movies.

Eddie Murphy's character only has a thousand words to say before he dies ?
The way Murphy flaps his gums, it'll be a f*cking short movie.
