Clip: Vault-Stealing Scene from "Fast Five" RevealedSubmit Comment
Universal Pictures has unveiled a four-minute clip from "Fast Five," which is scheduled to hit theaters on April 29th. Check out the trailer below.

Plot: Former cop Brian O'Conner (Paul Walker) partners with ex-con Dom Toretto (Vin Diesel) on the opposite side of the law. Since Brian and Mia Toretto (Jordana Brewster) broke Dom out of custody, they've blown across many borders to elude authorities. Now backed into a corner in Rio de Janeiro, they must pull one last job in order to gain their freedom.

As they assemble their elite team of top racers, the unlikely allies know their only shot of getting out for good means confronting the corrupt businessman who wants them dead. But he's not the only one on their tail. Hard-nosed federal agent Luke Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson) never misses his target. When he is assigned to track down Dom and Brian, he and his strike team launch an all-out assault to capture them.

So the Rock does join up with em, too much revealed thanks Alex for posting this.

Brazilian concrete. Even a bicicle could go through that.

Would have been better without boring shots of a woman at a PC cut in between.

*FAKE*

we all know Mexican police cars are not that nice.

This looks like the best scene in the trailer. I'll wait for the theater to see it. I'm still holding out a slim measure of hope that this film will kick ass and be good enough to make me forget all of its previous installments.

So Protagonists (drivers) + Rivals (rock) get along to steal money and the antagonist role (once was rock) gets shifted toward a corrupt demographic (mexicans).

Lack of originality is NO EXCUSE FOR BLATANTLY CLICHE.

I love willing suspension of disbelief. It makes it so easy to ignore things like physics.

The movie takes place in Brazil not Mexico and it is in South America.

So the best scene fromt he film is already on the net? So what's my motivation to see the entire film? Diesel's/Rocks's/Walker's stellar acting?

But I'll end up seeing it because I'm a sucker for action.
Inception writes:

Brazil my ass, that scene was film in Puerto Rico, well most of the entire movie. I wish they had the guts to film this movie in Favela.

Anyways thanks for the spoiler and I might see it... online that is.

Even though that entire scene was physically impossible in real life; it still looked fun. I'm looking forward to this. It's also good to see that 'ol Dwayne Johnson is back to playing action heroes- his true calling in life.

Yeah, stealing a thirty ton, titanium anchored vault with two sports cars and two tow lines has to be just about the dumbest thing I've ever seen in a film.

And you don't drive an SUV at forty miles per hour into a conrete, and likely steel reinforced, wall without at least getting a fender-bender.

Force = mass times acceleration.

"The movie takes place in Brazil not Mexico and it is in South America."

They all look the same to me.

mink is absolutely correct. that scene could NEVER happen, not with those two crappy cars. not only could they not MOVE the vault, no way in hell could they DRIVE IT DOWN THE f*ckING ROAD 70 MILES AN HOUR.

retarded film: two sports cars break a 30-ton vault out of a bank and haul it out on the highway in pursuit of law enforcement at high speeds.

real life: after they attach the hooks to the vault and press on the gas, the cable rips the bumpers off the cars without even moving the vault.

Big_Daddy@ mexican police are cars are Dodge Chargers and the new Chrysler trucks, so I don't think they're crapy
TPrime21 writes:

Inception: they did film a lot of this movie in the favelas and all around Rio. Vin and others have talked about it in the interviews and they show them filming there in some of the clips on their website.

If only the physics in this movie applied to real life. I'd just f*ckin fly everywhere. Does look pretty cool though
Mudders writes:

went and saw this yesterday.....yes this is one of the best scenes in the movie....yes it is near the end and yes there are some massive bullsh*t scenarios during this vault heist.
if anyone goes to see this go with an open mind or none at all and think the "ocean's" films but less intelligent....every character seems to ressemble one from the "oceans" films....but yeah entertaining none the less.
the rock is ok in it not great but he's all about kicking ass and thats all good for me...him and vin bump uglies in it and thats a good fight.....bullsh*t result but good.....7/10

Couldn't they just break into the vault instead of stealing the whole f*cking thing? It's like this chase scene is going in the wrong damn direction. Because I assume that they'll eventually have to break into the vault anyway. Kinda hard to do that when you stole the vault and drove it the f*ck away, followed by the entire police force of a city. At least when they stole the vault in the Italian Job remake it was relatively smart with a decoy vault and scuba gear and a safe cracker, AND a boat chase. This just looks retarded, but then it is Fast And The Furious after all.

^not far off the mark there darkraven

i didnt catch the jist of it till the very end
MLong1031 writes:

Actually to all of the people who think this is fact, its actually real. They really did pull a vault down the streets of downtown Rio, they did put it through a building and the destroyed over 200+ cars in the filming of it. It was all in the behind the scenes that was aired on HBO and Speed TV. If you dont believe me that the Chargers were used then look at this. Its a behind the scenes of Fast Five promoting the Dodge Charger.
