First Look: Animated "Batman: Year One" Movie, Plus Voice Cast AnnouncedSubmit Comment
Bryan Cranston ("Breaking Bad"), Ben McKenzie ("The OC"), Eliza Dushku ("Dollhouse") and Katee Sackhoff ("Battlestar Galactica") have been hired to voice "Batman: Year One," an animated adaptation of Frank Miller's comic book.

In "Year One," a young Bruce Wayne is first starting out as a costumed vigilante. He creates an early bond with Lieutenant James Gordon, whose importance in the tale makes it as much as Gordon's story as Wayne's.

Cranston is playing Gordon, while McKenzie is Bruce Wayne/Batman. Dushku voices Catwoman, while Sackhoff is Detective Sarah Essen, a Gordon love interest. Additionally, Alex Rocco will voice crime lord Carmine Falcone.

"Batman: Year One," which will be rated PG-13, is scheduled to be released on home video in the fall but will have its world premiere in July at Comic-Con.

I can finally use this word with respect to some Worst Previews news:

Awesome.

There, three years in the making. I hope it was worth it.

More Frank Miller gold. I hope he gets a chance to helm a live action Batman film someday.

I love most of DC's animated films. They have a vitality that seems to be missing from Marvel's.

DC is at it again, lets see if Marvel can keep up with these animated films. DCU LETS GO!

look different from 90's Hollywood animation.

Nowadays superhero animation for tv more like japan's anime

Why isn't Kevin Conroy voicing the character?!

But other than that - this is fantastic news!

DC Universe Animated Original Movies are awesome.I have every one of them and none of them dissapointed me.Especially Batmen.Every Batman has great voice cast.Either it's from Batman:TAS or it has some new talents.I suggest to the ones who didn't to watch Batman:Under the Red Hood.Jensen Ackles was on fire with that one

@Han Solo

No way that Marvel can keep up.They've been making a Thor cartoon for over a year now and it's still not finished. And every animated they had was mediocre.Except maybe Ultimate Avengers and Planet Hulk

@SeWerin - they've been trying to let other guys have a shot at bats in the DC animated universe of recent years, always usually switching it. And it works because each of them are written differently.

I'd love a Long Halloween movie but I'd also want it how Sale drew it. I can't see that happening with some of his designs, especially Joker.

The fact that it's in DC's animation team's hands says it all. Bruce Timm and Andrea Romano can do no wrong and this story will transalte so well. Can't Wait.

Not long ago i saw a picture of Bryan Cranston as walter white in the first episodes of breaking bad without the head shaved and i inmediately thought of Gordon from the batman comics...
