First Look: Christian Bale in "The 13 Flowers of Nanjing"

First Look: Christian Bale in "The 13 Flowers of Nanjing"Submit Comment
Back in December, we reported that Christian Bale had signed on to star in director Zhang Yimou's $90 million "The 13 Flowers of Nanjing" film (previously called "Nanjing Heroes"), which will be 40% in English and the rest in Mandarin Chinese. And today we have the first photos of Bale in the film. Check them out below.

The story is about the Nanjing Massacre, which resulted in the death of thousands of Chinese citizens at the hands of Japanese troops. In the movie, thirteen prostitutes stepped in for female university students who were to be taken as "escorts" for the troops during the period when nearly 20,000 women and girls were raped and killed.

Bale will play an American priest, named John, who helps a great number of Chinese escape certain death by sheltering some of the prostitutes and students.

So it's like Shindlers List with whores... Shindlers Fist? Shinlong d*cks? Shanghai Piss?

Bale starts Aikidoing that ass out of the Japanese

Hoepfully it doesn't soften up the tone, this was a serious thing that happened in China that Japan today tries there best to white wash it out of their history by pretending it never happened.

I get it's a touchy thing and no one would want this stain upon there history, but take it like Germany has Japan, don't ignore your past and pretend it never happend, just accept it!

This will be another great movie.the director also made Hero, house of flying daggers, and curse of the Golden Flower.

And the hatred of chinese vs Japanese never stops in movies.I've lost count how many movies are about that.

Like Cinema said, Chin Lee's List. With Bale.

I just hope he uses his Batman voice when he start kicking ass in his little white collar.

But no, you know he's gonna get him some of that asian ass. I would.

LOOKS like Equilibrium re-booted. Story itself sounds interesting. On the fence with this one.

Well Mink I think the opinion of it being badass might have to do with the combination of an amazing director Zhang Yimou working with Christian bale and this historic event in my opinon is long overdue to be turned into a film.

Christian bale has the supporting oscar and I will put money on at least a best actor nomination for this film, only white known actor in a big historic drama, has oscar written all over it.

Also on a side note it's funny that no one knows sh*t about history until someone turns it into a film, a little sad.
