Mysterious "Halo" Movie Set Photos Arrive Online

Mysterious "Halo" Movie Set Photos Arrive OnlineSubmit Comment
Along with Warner Bros, Machinima website recently launched a "Mortal Kombat" web series, directed by Kevin Tancharoen (Fame). Now the site has premiered several set photos on their Facebook page, claiming that they are from a "Halo" movie.

It's unlikely that Microsoft has allowed anyone to begin work on a "Halo" movie, especially one without much of a budget or any big stars attached.

Machinima is probably shooting a "Halo" short film in order to then convince Microsoft to let them make a web series. But who knows, maybe Microsoft is already on board. Check out the photos below and stay tuned for more information as it comes in.

Looks like a bunch of guys in cheap gear playing Master Chief to me.

I agree with minkowski. I'll wait to see what it looks like on camera though.

Looks as bad as starship troopers sequels and I can't stand that halo franchise or Gears of war f*ck xbox

In the last photo, that is Anthony Ruivivar from Starship Troopers
MYVAGHURTZ writes:

It's the set for an ODST web series. That's why there's no master chief.
bandolero999 writes:

You mean the first guy to die from the bugs in the first movie then got turned into burrito flesh?

Poor guy he must be really struggling no more acting breaks after that should of shot his agent.

This web series is a great idea too bad they couldn't of done it sooner and saved many other movies from bombing like doom, anything that Uwe boll directed, and the last street fighter.

"In the last photo, that is Anthony Ruivivar from Starship Troopers"

No that's Cuba Gooding Jr, and this is the best he can do.
bandolero999 writes:

Cuba gooding wishes he was in this after daddy daycamp his time was up.

He has made some really pointless bizarre movies as well like Rat race and a movie with Beyonce.the rest I can't remember the titles.talk about a washed up Oscar winner.
minkowski writes:
on April 17th, 2011 at 9:36:36 PM

And the fool got booted from iron Man 2 in favor of Don Cheadle, who runs all over Gooding any day.
bandolero999 writes:
on April 17th, 2011 at 9:46:51 PM

Yes Cheadle is great even better than Will Smith.
Underrated
minkowski writes:
on April 17th, 2011 at 9:56:42 PM

Will Smith? bah. Cheadle can truly act classically, Will Smith, well, if it wasn't for his performance in Pursuit of Happyness, and perhaps Seven Punds, I'd say he's just a goofy guy almost always playing himself.

"But who knows, maybe Microsoft is already on board."

Wow, no. If Microsoft was on board they wouldn't be making some sh*tty straight to internet web video bullsh*t. They would get real actors and better props. Well, at least they would have the money for those things.
Johnnyb writes:

Three simple words: f*ck THIS sh*t!!!!! That is not Halo... Just another wick attempt on a blockbuster franchise.... No way this one can proceed!!!!!!

They should make this into a game or something.
HideousSecretion writes:

Ha Ha Ha... this looks terrible. The props and costumes look cheap. Has to be a hoax or a commercial or something. Then again the Halo games suck so why not the movie?

Max Rockatansky Junior writes:

You'd swear this is a picture of geeks playing Lazer Tag out in West Virginia or something ... they have to simulate the lazer sounds by letting out wet farts and the word "Bzzzzzzzz!"
Max Rockatansky Junior writes:

This is being directed by the guy who directed the remake of Fame ?

Which studio head did he forget to get fisted by ?

So THAT's what happened to all those cheap-ass f*cking props from DOOM!
Max Rockatansky Junior writes:

The only guys who will like this are the pedophiles who wore raincoats to the premiere of Captain E-O back the 80's.

I think these are from the new Halo amusement park in Florida.
Zeroguy writes:

Well it is a good idea to let the nerds/fanboys make the movie and actually do justice to the Halo franchise. But honestly, this series died at Halo 3. And while I loved Reach, it easily could have been something else.
dhkenobi writes:

It looks like one of two fan-made films currently in production: Operation Chastity, or Halo: Faith
WV-Films writes:

Might be commercial shots for the new Halo 1 game I heard they were remaking.
MrHeck writes:

I remember playing the first Halo a long time ago. I also remember getting bored as f*ck after 2 hours, puking, and switching to Unreal Tournament instead. Permanently.

@Max Rockatansky Junior

So THAT's what happened to all those cheap-ass f*cking props from DOOM!

*Amen sir*

It has the look of the commercial for Halo 3, which Microsoft released years ago. Besides, I can't even see a Master Chief.
John1017 writes:

the Warthog is the only thing that looks cool, and the knife in the last picture.
Zeroguy writes:
on April 18th, 2011 at 3:10:58 AM

WETA and Blomkamp did a good job on that Halo short film "Landfall". Nice effects and good build up. But it's just mindless action.
Again, though, i like that the idea that nerds are making fan films.
Only problem is that it's Halo. Sure, they're expanding on the series but it's just going to be filled with ODST soldiers dying.
I hate films/video games that deviate from the original source material. It's like making a Batman movie without Batman. Just doesn't work.

Wasn't Terrence Howard the one who got booted from Iron Man 2? I played about 4 hours of Halo 2 and it probably had the least interesting plot of any game I've played. The main characters name is Master Chief for f*cks sake! There haven't been names that generic in games since 8 bit Nintendo.
Frostyballoon writes:

Jesus where did they get those costumes? I dont think plastic would stop a bullet sorry guys

"Wasn't Terrence Howard the one who got booted from Iron Man 2?"

Yeah, you're right of course, but in my defense, they all look alike.
SpookyCupcakes writes:

Good, I'm glad that all that halo will amount to in the film world is nothing more than cheap webisodes.

Serves Microsoft right for not wanting Peter Jackson and Neill Blomkamp to make it.
technoreaper writes:
on April 18th, 2011 at 6:58:48 PM

It's probably just for an ad or some webisode for an upcoming Halo project. This definitely ain't no big movie set.
minkowski writes:

"Serves Microsoft right for not wanting Peter Jackson and Neill Blomkamp to make it."

Yeah, Microsoft, take that!

Halo Reach proved that Master Chief isn't the spotlight of the series, considering (imo), that it was the best game out of all of them. By a longshot.

If (and when) they ever bring this series to cinema, I'd say start with Reach. You have to build the mythos.
