Charlie Sheen Insults Oliver Stone at NYC Show

Charlie Sheen Insults Oliver Stone at NYC ShowSubmit Comment
During his NYC show on Friday, Charlie Sheen took a shot at Oliver Stone, who directed the actor in both "Wall Street" and "Platoon."

"I'll buy an Academy Award from Oliver Stone, because he's now broke," Sheen told the audience at Radio City Music Hall. "His movies now suck. Anyone seen Wall Street 2?"

He went on to explain how Nicolas Cage helped him smuggle cocaine onto a flight to San Francisco. Apparently they realized that there were FBI agents on board and were faced with the decision of flushing the ounce of cocaine they were carrying or stuff it down their sweaty underwear. Luckily, the Feds were fans of both "Platoon" and "Raising Arizona," so Sheen and Cage walked away unquestioned.

His brother and father are both stand up guys.. Great actors. Great directors. It's really too bad about carlos. He could be living with the same amount of respect his family members receive but he's a complete loser. So much wasted talent. It's really just a crying shame.

@triggax

You know, after Wall Street (the original) and even that made for TV movie he starred in about the cop that goes undercover in the biker gang, I would have agreed with you about his range as an actor.

But now ?

Charlie got lucky...

The Sheen name got him Platoon...
Which got him Wallstreet (same director).
He stepped into an already successful sit-com 'Spin City' to replace MJF.
Thus: 2.5 Men was created for him(ish).

Now he's just turned into a whiny twat from the 'Kevin Smith School of Whiny Bitch.' He gets a crazy $1.8mil. per episode raise, and he f*cks it up. Now he's trying to tell every dirty story from his past he knows bringing other names into it.

What a useless, drug-soaked, bum.

LOSING!

Not as painful to watch as "Two and a Half Men", however.
Ranger writes:

@c - if you're referring to the last season (or 2 last seasons?), when the show went 'off message' and Charlie settling down with Chelsea (that was trying to 'fix-train-punish (and not in the good way) episodes), and he was no longer the drunken, irresponsible playboy that made the show what it was... I agree. The show was done (for me) before Charlie tanked it.

What Charlie is doing to himself is disappointing but don't act like he got to this point in his career merely through handouts and name recognition alone. The guy is now and always was a pretty decent actor. He's just as talented as his father, more talented than his brother, and is arguably the most successful member of the Brat Pack from the 80s. In fact, his staying power and talent is somewhat to blame for his current issues. If the guy's star had fizzled out like Andrew McCarthy or Demi Moore someone would have stepped in and gotten help for him a long time ago. No one would be around enabling and encouraging his habits like they are now. The guy has always been a functioning addict much like Kiefer Sutherland, Elvis Presley, Michael Jackson, Liz Taylor, Johnnie Depp, Bob Marley, Jimmie Hendrix, John Lennon, Arnold Schwarzenegger (steroids), etc, etc.... Usually these people have their breaking points where they can't physically or mentally go on, but the ride they take to get to that point is usually full of success. Charlie is no different, I just fear that we may be seeing him at the end of his candle.
Devil writes:
on April 10th, 2011 at 11:12:30 AM

@SACdaddy

Did you just put this bum in the same league as John Lennon and all of the other talented people that you have just mentioned? SMH and what ride of success? This moron was only in two decent films.
Ranger writes:
on April 10th, 2011 at 11:23:55 AM

@SAC - I normally agree with you but... Charlie is as talented as his dad?!?!

Can I have some of what you're smoking?!

Watch anything (The West Wing) Martin did on YouTube and see if Charlie could ever come close to polishing his dad's shoes.

Charlie is Charlie... no, zip, zero acting range. He's a bad boy Kneau Reeves. You could put a cardboard cut-out in any of Charlie's movies and he phone in his lines and no one would have noticed.

The only resemblance that Charlie and Martin have is the same last name. It all ends from there my friend.

His career has been getting by on his dad's name and luck, only. He played the EXACT same character in Spin City that he has in 2.5 Men (and I'm a fan of both shows).

Charlie and Martin = light years apart.
Ranger writes:
on April 10th, 2011 at 11:39:20 AM

And I'm not saying Martin is (or looks) better because he does the serious dramatic stuff, and Charlie does comedy. I'm comparing them across the board on talent.

Let's see Charlie pull ANY emotion off (comedic or otherwise) like Martin:

Always respected Emilio for not using the Sheen name and staying with the surname he was born with.

Your not wrong there Ranger

Funny 2 of Charlie's best films have been where he is along side his dad.

Have you ever seen Stockade (cadence in the US) directed by Martin Sheen thats a pretty good movie and Martin got the best out of Charlie in that movie.

Badlands is still one of my favorite Martin Sheen films BTW
Ranger writes:
on April 10th, 2011 at 3:38:53 PM

Yeah... Badlands was typical Sheen powerhouse stuff.

And I did see Cadence once, long ago, and remembered liking it.

Charlie is a grenade with the pin pulled.
He owes everything to his dad, and says of his father's help (and Emilio's) lately... calls it 'rhetoric'... F-off Charlie.
