Dwayne Johnson Wants to Star in "Call of Duty" Movie

Dwayne Johnson Wants to Star in "Call of Duty" MovieSubmit Comment
MTV had the chance to sit down with Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and asked him whether he would consider starring in another video game movie after his experience working on "Doom."

"I think if the right one came along," he said. "I thought we had an opportunity with 'Doom.' Didn't work out the way we wanted it to, creatively. But yeah, if the right opportunity came along and the script is good, sure."

When asked if he has a certain project in mind that he would love to take on, Johnson replied: "'[Call of Duty] Black Ops,' that would be bad-ass. Let's make it happen."

Back in 2009, video game publisher Activision Blizzard filed to protect the trademark "Call of Duty" in relation to movies. So there's a chance that a "Call of Duty" film may happen one day.

Why would they make a Black Ops film when by the time it's produced Modern Warfare and probably Treyarch's next inferior piece of sh*t is released. But a man can dream. A man can dream.

No thank you.

Can't you just make a movie and call it "Duty Call"? Because of they make a movie based on "Call of Duty", the only thing they will have in common is the name. The stories in "Call of Duty", while good enough for a game, is quite generic for a movie. So there's really no reason to make it a movie, other than to capitalize on the name.

And "Doom", the movie, will always be a guilty pleasure of mine.

^ Same here. Doom wasn't great, but its still a decent action movie. As an adaptation of the Doom video game, it's terrible. But as a sci-fi action movie, it's pretty decent.

I wish Dwayne Johnson could get a few hit action movies under his belt. He's much better in them than those stupid family comedies.

COD movie sounds good! Dwayne J. in it? Meh, as long as he's not the lead and he's kill is some awesome way...

Yeah, you wish.

Would be fine if the Rock can get the military lingo down. He has the commanding voice to fit the part, but his delivery needs some improvement based on his role in Doom. I actually liked him in that film, so I can definitely see him doing another military movie.

I really wish there was a way to get Kiefer Sutherland involved in a COD film. Even though COD World at War wasn't the best game in the series, he still played a great part and had the perfect sergeant voice. Get Kiefer signed up and then we can start talking Dwayne :)

Because the tooth fairy script was goddam mind blowing.

If he was offered a role in a movie adaptation of hello kitty he'd bite your hands off.

What does it say about the "Action Movie Genre"... when Dwayne Johnson still can't make it as big as Shwarzenegger, Stallone, Willis or even Van Damme ever did?

I like Dwayne... I thought he was great in "The Rundown" and "Doom" but his career choices have been mostly sh*t otherwise.

This guy should be getting far better scripts than he is. Let's hope they make this film but hire "better than just decent" writers for it.
