Posters: Henry CavillSubmit Comment
Relativity Media has unveiled the first posters for their upcoming "Immortals" 3D film, which is directed by Tarsem Singh (The Cell), and starring Henry Cavill (Superman), Stephen Dorff, Isabel Lucas, Freida Pinto, Luke Evans, Kellan Lutz, with John Hurt and Mickey Rourke. Check out the posters below.

Plot: The brutal and bloodthirsty King Hyperion (Mickey Rourke) and his murderous Heraklion army are rampaging across Greece in search of the long lost Bow of Epirus. With the invincible Bow, the king will be able to overthrow the Gods of Olympus and become the undisputed master of his world. With ruthless efficiency, Hyperion and his legions destroy everything in their wake, and it seems nothing will stop the evil king's mission.

As village after village is obliterated, a stonemason named Theseus (Henry Cavill) vows to avenge the death of his mother in one of Hyperion's raids. When Theseus meets the Sybelline Oracle, Phaedra (Freida Pinto), her disturbing visions of the young man's future convince her that he is the key to stopping the destruction. With her help, Theseus assembles a small band of followers and embraces his destiny in a final desperate battle for the future of humanity.

Well, judging from the cast and look of the film, it looks better then the Conan The Barbarian remake.

This looks more promising than Clash of the Titans.

Yeah, the cast is good, but that doesn't change the fact that those posters are terrible...

Sounds good but can easily be ruined with a greedy PG-13 rating. You know Hwood these days. Some idiot studio board of directors will conviently forget about the critical and financial success of R-rated films like 300, Gladiator, Troy, and Braveheart. They'll ignore horrible trainwrecks like King Artur, The Eagle, and Robin Hood that bombed at the theater because of their watered down studio edited content. Unfortunately, the studio won't be able to see past the huge profits of that sh*tty Clash of the Titans turd. They've already got the 3D, now all that's left is to dumb Immortals down (even more) for the masses with a another nutless PG-13 rating.

is the guy in the last photo compensating for something?
SeWerin writes:

I just saw that it's directed by Tarsem a guy who made The Cell (which was crap), and The Fall (which was very good), but both of the movies are beautiful to look at with lots of practical effects. The guy has the eye, that's for sure, and knows to deliver emotional story. Count me in. But still those posters are terrible...

The Producers of 300. Yeah, that'll trick people.

And what's with the burnt sienna Thor-ish posters?
rabid writes:

It's a Tarsem movie. That might be a still photo from the film.

@mink

He implies how beautiful his movies look...

But this this looks like ad for some drink...In fact, you can easily do a photoshop here and make believable juice ad....

hopefully all of these greek epic movies will fuel the need for... yes a God of War movie... am I starting to sound like a broken record?

"He implies how beautiful his movies look..."

i got that, but it was a wierd way to respnd to what I said.

Anyway, one thing about Tarsem, all his films that I've seen feature the same byzantine sweeping exaggerated motions. I pray this guy doesn't typecast himself as that kind of director.
minkowski writes:

weird...

Re: Third Poster of Athena / Isabel Lucas

You might want to rethink this poster. She looks like she is pulling c*ck. Actually scratch that...great poster.

Re: Improvements on the last poster:

Put some heads on each sword. Each face bears a dying gruesome expression. That would be so badass.

I think this movie is going to be amazing. As a director, Tarsem's has an incredible original visual style. No doubt Immortals will feature slow motions, panoramic desert shots, underwater drownings, long flowing red drapes, elaborately designed head gear...all typical of his designs.
