New Posters for Steven SpielbergSubmit Comment
Steven Spielberg and DreamWorks Television are working on a new alien-invasion TV series for TNT, called "Falling Skies," that stars Noah Wyle ("ER"). Today we have some new posters, which you can check out below.

Plot: After an all-out invasion of the planet by an alien military force, ordinary people must do extraordinary things to survive. "Falling Skies" opens in the chaotic aftermath of an alien attack that has left most of the world completely incapacitated. In the six months since the initial invasion, the few survivors have banded together outside major cities to begin the difficult task of fighting back. The series combines stunning visual effects and personal human stories about triumph and survival in the most devastating circumstances.

The new series premieres on June 19th at 9pm ET on TNT.

Btw, did anyone know that the executive producer of this is Steven Spielberg?

I donīt think the posters mention it ...

^^lol, but notice it doesn't say 'Director Steven Spielberg' because he doesn't know what that even is anymore.

Directing? Pffft, he's too busy EP'ing TV sh*t and licking the barnacles off Abrams sphincter.

But I do like the alien city/machine design thing, but it looks cheaply and lazily omposited in, and there's no way you could build something like that right there without leveling the entire f*cking city, super-advanced ETs or not.

My take judging from the posters alone -

City sized alien crafts loom over humanity's doomed metropolis. Reminds me of ID4 and District 9 - only more menacing. This construct appears to have four massive leg foundations supporting four even larger cantilevered armatures. On top are likely landing decks for the alien attack ship armada. This promises to be an epic tale of alien invasion decimating most of humanity as we know it. In reality, all those buildings around the alien craft should be completely leveled and leave nothing but smoldering ashes (good spot Mink).

Humanity will be incapacitated in the form of enslavement by the alien race as evidenced by the glowing spinal chord. We will be controlled by the aliens to farm the planet and our resources for a higher purposes that the aliens see fit. Perhaps that is why the skyscapers are still left standing as the aliens know humanity still requires shelter.

And there is no way Noah Wiley armed only with a Kalashnikov AK-47 will last more than a week. Unless the aliens deliberately want to leave a handful of survivors just for sport.

There seems to be a new wave of alien invasions films coming out of Hollywood from Skyline, Battle LA, Monsters and before that D9, War of the Worlds, ID4 etc. Since this is for TV, I have hopes that Spielberg will bring high value to its production. It looks better and grittier than V which I wanted to like but felt like a drawn out soap opera.

Watch Falling Skies - The First Trailer.

"Join the Resistance". Wiley is going for the same look as Bale in Terminator Salvation.

IMDB has an even better trailer and cast discussions.

Funny seeing Moon Bloodgood the same hot actress from Terminator Salvation reprise a similar role. Will Patton appears as a crusty resistance fighter. His role will no doubt echo his leadership as Bethlehem in the Post Man.

If the visuals are anything like in the trailer, then they aren't that stunning. But I still have some hope this, since I'm a sucker for "alien invasion"-storires.

anyone else notice that the ships in the third poster are basically a ripoff of the Rifter from EVE Online?
