Bryan Cranston May Play the Villain in "Total Recall"Submit Comment
Variety has learned that Bryan Cranston ("Breaking Bad," "Malcolm in the Middle") is currently in negotiations with Columbia Pictures to play the villain opposite Colin Farrell in the upcoming "Total Recall" remake.

The new movie, to be directed by Len Wiseman (Live Free or Die Hard, Underworld), is based on a story by Philip K. Dick about a victim of mind-tampering who buys a dream vacation from a company that sells implanted memories and winds up on Mars, fighting a demented despot.

"Total Recall" will soon be shooting in Toronto, but there are still two female lead roles to fill. Last we heard, Eva Mendes, Kate Bosworth, Diane Kruger, Paula Patton, Eva Green and Jessica Biel were being considered.

That could be cool, I guess, just as long as they don't use the guy that played that godawful villain from The Losers.

I really like Colin Ferrel.. He just has some strange film choices here and there.

But with films like Intermission and In Bruges under his belt.. Even his slight turn in Crazy Heart was great.. You cant hate the guy..

Not too mention i am the only fan of the Miami Vice remake. Literally.. Biggest fan on earth probably.

One week, everyone hates Colin, this week it seems like they love him. Whatever, Colin isn't the problem, this sh*t director is.

He would seem like a better choice for Ronny Cox's villain. Really can't see him in an all-out brawl with Farrell

You can add my brother and me to that list triggax.

This is fairly good casting, he is good in "Breaking Bad" and great as the dentist in "Seinfeld"..if they get the right girls then this movie could be redeemed.

f*cking awesome actor. Breaking Bad is my fav show on AMC (f*ck Mad Men with it's having to meet expectations of the masses, and Walking Dead with it's sh*tty writing).
And Cranston has earned his Emmy awards. All 3 of them.
It's also rad cause he's in a Nicolas Winding Refn film, so that's cool.

This ain't Malcom in the Middle this is Total Recall....this is an insult to the original.

Here's my thought. Cranston will have the role played by Ronny Cox in the original. All will be moving along great and expectations will be good for this film til they announce some crap loser for Ironside's original role.

"I got 5 kids to feed" Chris Rock as benny.
rabid writes:

The original film was a big departure from the classic short story, so there's plenty of room to write a brand new story. He could be a character that didn't exist in the previous film.
